The Black Death had many impacts on Europe back in the 1300s but not all of them were that bad or long-lasting. One of these shorter-lasting effects was that trade suffered for a short amount of time. War was also temporarily abandoned. The Black Death also largely impacted tenant farmers. Many laborers that landowners relied on as tenant farmers died during the mass spread of the plague. Because of the death of so many laborers, landowners had to increase wages for artisans and peasants in order to maintain their tenants. This plague affected people of all ages and because of this, it killed around a third of Europe's population, which didn't recover until the 16th century.
