Chapter Two

His breath was at her neck as he backed her out of the kitchen and towards the stairs, intending to celebrate their engagement.

"Baby, I have to call Brynne... and my parents!"

"They can wait," he growled.

"Yes sir," she giggled, who was she to turn him down anyway?

His hand rested on her breast through the thin fabric of her dress and grinned when she shivered in pleasure, "What do you want baby?"

"Why are our clothes still on?"

He laughed, "I was wondering the same thing myself."

Julie grabbed his shirt and yanked it over his head, doing the same to her dress once his had dropped to the floor. Underneath her dress she wore nothing, standing in the middle of the bedroom with nothing on.

Dale stood and drank in the sight of her standing naked in front of him. One thing was for sure, he would never get tired of the sight of her with nothing on.

"Are you going to take your clothes off or am I going to be the only one standing here with nothing on?"

He grinned, "Your wish is my command baby."

Julie lay on her side staring at the monstrous rock on her finger, wondering how she had gotten so lucky to find him.

"Why are you so quiet baby?"

"Just looking at the ring and thinking..."

"Thinking about what?"

"About how I have gotten so lucky and wondering if I should pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming."

His arms wrapped tighter around her waist and he pulled her flush against him, "This is no dream, darling. It's very much our new reality."

She smiled, "It's just so crazy to think about how this all started..."

"You and I?"

Julie nodded, "I met you because Brynne started talking to Martin online. When does that really happen except for on TV? When does the normal, average, everyday girl from Mississippi get to meet the famous NASCAR driver by chance because her best friend happens to get a random instant message from another famous NASCAR driver."

"It is pretty unbelievable. But the best day of my life so far Julie, was the day Brynne and Martin introduced us."

"Mine too," she agreed.

(Later that night.)

Ring. Ring. Ring.

"Hello?"

"Brynne, oh my God! You will never believe this! Dale Earnhardt, Jr. just proposed to me and I said yes! I'm getting married!"

"What?" Brynne was stunned. "When? Tell me everything."

"Earlier tonight at dinner," Julie squealed, "He wants me to marry him and move to North Carolina officially. I will never be going back to Mississippi and I will never have to worry about not being able to be around him all the time! I so can't believe this!"

"Give me all the details!"

Julie gushed, "I made dinner and he was acting super weird, like fidgeting and everything. And he started rambling on and on about how maybe I wouldn't have to worry about ever going back to Mississippi, and I didn't understand what he was getting at, I mean I was really confused. And then he just dropped to one knee and pulled out this huge ring and asked me to marry him. I couldn't believe it!"

"Who would have thought the day would come where Dale Earnhardt, Jr. proposed to someone? And you actually said yes... the two people most scared of commitment, and you're getting married... to each other!"

"I'm getting married!"

"Do you know when or where or anything else?"

"We haven't really discussed any of that, but I want to have it during the off-season..."

"That's just a couple months away."

"I know," Julie acknowledged, "Actually, about four months. It's a lot to get done in four months, but with some help I know it can be done. Which is why I'm calling you before anyone else, I haven't even called my parents yet!"

"What can I do to help?" Brynne asked.

Julie sighed, "Just please hear me out. You are my best friend; you are the reason this whole thing is even happening having introduced me to him and you have been my best friend for a long time. I want you to be my maid of honor..."

"Of course I'll be your maid of honor Julie, I would be honored!"

"That's not all, Brynne..."

"What else? Is there anything I can do for you to help? I will help in any way that I possibly can to help you get this wedding planned in four months!"

"I need you to come here, Brynne. I need you to come to North Carolina, and not just for a week or two, I need you here until the wedding Brynne. I have no clue what I'm doing, and I need my best friend's help to get everything done in time. So please Brynne, will you please come to North Carolina?"
