I asked God for a flower,  he gave me a bouquet
I asked God for a minute,  he gave me a day
I asked God for true love,  he gave me that too
I asked for an angel and he gave me you.

You are the best thing that came into my life.
Just when the blues of the gloomy weather were getting to me,
You walked in and set me free.
I love you for who you are to me and that matters most.
I never could in my dreams imagine that it could ever be true
That I would find someone as special as you!
You have given me everything that a heart could desire,
You love has now set my soul on fire,
And with your love by my side I can achieve anything for which I aspire.

I never gave a lock of hair away
To a man,  Dearest,  except this to thee,
Which now upon my fingers thoughtfully,
I ring out to the full brown length and say
'Take it.' My day of youth went yesterday;
My hair no longer bounds to my foot's glee,
Nor plant I it from rose or myrtle-tree,
As girls do,  any more: it only may
Now shade on two pale cheeks the mark of tears,
Taught drooping from the head that hangs aside
Through sorrow's trick. I thought the funeral-shears
Would take this first,  but Love is justified, —
Take it thou, —finding pure,  from all those years,
The kiss my mother left here when she died.

I THINK I should have loved you presently,
And given in earnest words I flung in jest;
And lifted honest eyes for you to see,
And caught your hand against my cheek and breast;
And all my pretty follies flung aside
That won you to me,  and beneath your gaze,
Naked of reticence and shorn of pride,
Spread like a chart my little wicked ways.
I,  that had been to you,  had you remained,
But one more waking from a recurrent dream,
Cherish no less the certain stakes I gained,
And walk your memory's halls,  austere,  supreme,
A ghost in marble of a girl you knew
Who would have loved you in a day or two.

Love is the greatest feeling,
Love is like a play,
Love is what I feel for you,
Each and every day,
Love is like a smile,
Love is like a song,
Love is a great emotion,
That keeps us going strong,
I love you with my heart,
My body and my soul,
I love the way I keep loving,
Like a love I can't control,
So remember when your eyes meet mine,
I love you with all my heart,
And I have poured my entire soul into you,
Right from the very start.

Promise that we'll always and forever be same
Promise you'll be a friend and more,  and stay
You are the one who gave me a reason to smile
When there was really none and life didn't seem worthwhile
Now that I have you I can't let go
We are not just friends,  we were meant to be more
Don't deny what you already feel
It all seems perfect,  and it feels too real
I have waited all my life to have someone like you
Who really knows me and makes me feel brand new
Now that we are together you can finally see
How I feel about you and what you mean to me.

It was love at first sight,

Soon his arm was around me tight.

When I first looked into his eyes,

I knew he was my winning prize.

There are days when I lie awake in my bed and wonder
How could I have gotten so lucky.
You came into my life like those princes of tales yonder
And made my life feel so complete.
So now that I have you for myself,  I know for sure
That I am yours forever more
You are the reason why I can smile in the morning again
Feel happy,  complete and safe.
You are the reason for my existence
And the reason that I have the courage to make it through the day.
I love you more than words can say.
So forgive my humble attempt,
I just want to say that I love you so
And will continue to do so forever more.
