Jack was in bed, reading a book. Legosi was away, getting groceries for that month. All of a sudden, Jack heard a knock at the door. "Come in." Said Jack, still reading. To Jack's surprise, it was Louis, bringing something with him. "Hi Louis, what are you doing here?" "Oh, I just thought you'd want to choose which part you want in our next performance." Jack knew Louis was not the kind of guy to just do this sort of thing. He usually did it on his own, in his office. "Louis, I feel somethings wrong. Are you okay?" Jack asked. Louis began to slowly tear up, but not full on cry. "Here, lets go somewhere more private." Jack led Louis to the bathroom, and they sat down on the edge of the sink counter. Louis started to whimper, and Jack gave him the most comforting hug Louis has ever had. "I'm sorry, I just cant put on this mask anymore." Louis admitted, making Jack slowly get an odd gut feeling. "I was walking down the hall, and this bear just, appeared! He was following me, giving me a look of malice. He looked like he wanted to eat me! I had to run into a crowd to lose him! This facade is going to get me killed Jack, and I don't want that!" "Well, why are you asking me about this?" Jack asked. "I don't know, I just had this gut feeling to talk to you about this!" Jack was in shock. He still didn't quite understand why Louis of all people would come to him about something so serious. Legosi quietly entered the dorm, and quietly walked over to the kitchen to put away the groceries. Legosi heard a sob from the bathroom. "Hey, whoever is in there, are you ok?" Legosi called out, walking over to the door. "Louis, I think Legosi could help you through this." Jack whispered. Louis just nodded in agreement. "Come in" Jack called out, before Legosi opened the door and saw Louis in Jack's arms. "Louis! Are you okay?" Jack told Legosi everything that had happened, and Legosi was in a state of disbelief about Louis acting like this. "Here, how about we go out for dinner. It can be a fancy restaurant if you want." Louis sniffled, "Sounds like a good idea to me."
Legosi helped Louis calm down before helping him get ready. Jack was picking out restaurants they could go to, eventually settling on one of the nicest diners in Cherryton, Smokey's Wine and Dine. The three of them then headed out to the bus stop. "I've always wondered, why do you put on this mask?" Legosi asked, before Louis took a deep breath. "I've always had this idea that I needed to be the best out of everyone. Only recently did I realize how much danger I put myself in, and now I might not make it past this month." Louis began to tear up again, before Jack hugged him as tightly as he could. "Don't cry, please don't cry. You aren't a god, you're not the best, you're a Beastar, and that's better than all those things combined." Louis's spirits were raised by Jack's words of wisdom, at least he hoped they were. But Louis knew that Jack was trying his hardest to make him feel the best he could ever feel, and Louis found even more respect for Jack in this simple act of kindness.
The three of them got to the diner about 10 minutes later, ready for a meal. They chose a booth, and waited to order. A waitress soon came to their table. "Welcome to Smokey's, how may I be of service to you tonight?" "I'll have your finest Rainbow Trout." said Legosi, staring at the menu salivating at the choices. "I'll have a salad with some fries on the side." said Louis. "What will you have kiddo?" "Uh, I'll have the Chicky Tendies..." said Jack, as Legosi and Louis just looked at him. "Oh, and a side of your fry and onion ring platter!" Jack added. "Okay, I'll be back with your meals very soon."
"So, did you know this attacker of yours?" Jack asked, Legosi wondering the same thing. "Not off hand, all I know is that he had small beady eyes, was brown, and was around Legosi's height." Jack, pencil in hand, made a sketch of what his attacker would've looked like, before Legosi stopped him. "That kinda looks like Riz from Drama Club." Legosi added, amazing Louis by how well they worked in such a short time. About 2 hours later, their bellies were full and they were about ready to go home. Louis had taken the liberty of putting posters of Jack's sketch up all around the school and through the dorms. The next few days were uneventful, until about 3 weeks later. The school was dark, and Jack was walking down the hall, when all of a sudden something latched onto his leg...
