2. The Best Of Me

 YASH'S POV:

I smirked at myself at Shivanis reaction towards the text, and chuckled slightly. Looking up Shivani was now sitting next to Brindha, and she was blushing the colour of ripened cherry tomatoes. Shivani was staring daggers at me, and I found it so darn cute that, she was trying to seem threatening and the key word being there TRYING.

As the train pulled up to Boonside, I thought to myself how I couldnt stop myself from thinking about her. I know it was kind of messed up to think, that I might like her and all that shit. But I got these weird feelings, like this tingly sensation that just takes over my body whenever I talked to her through texts or at school. God I just sounded like a girl, I got to toughen up and act more like a guy.

Aliyah came up the stairs and sat next Shivani, and started talking to her about some random new recipe she tried out. I tried to listen to Thuli and Brindhas conversation but decided to let them be, because they would probably be talking about the most useless crap and I would probably be just third wheeling with those two Lankans.

I just zoned out and my eyes just by themselves landed on Shivani. Her hair was framing her face nicely and she laughed and giggled at whatever Aliyah was saying, she was just so...perfect. I swear she had the biggest eyes I have ever seen,  they were like the size of tennis balls. Now before you think I'm a pedo, creeping and looking at innocent girls like that, and intently staring at her, I'm sorry to disappoint you that I'm not a pedo but I'm just...admiring her beauty.

After a while, I just realised that everything around me was quite. Those twelvies in the corner were still loud but the people around me I call my friends were mute. I glanced at Thuli and he was looking at me like a freakin stoner. Brindha was laughing like a maniac who just found out that she was released from a mental asylum, Aliyah had an amused expression, Meenu had mysteriously arrived and was looking at me as if I had a second head, what the hell, how did she get here ?  and Shivani was blushing furiously.

Thuli  was the first one to speak.

"Oi you horse, Aliyah just asked if you did your drawings for engineering for the freakin hundreth time, but u were too busy staring at Shivani like a freakin creep, which you already are" he said in an annoyed manner.

CRAP STICKS !!

"Shit no, meh screw it" I said, in a neutral expression. Wow Thuli was going weird, I swear he was on his man periods..AGAIN.

We finally pulled up to Penrith and I was so relieved to be out of that stuffy train, I was feeling so hot. I guess it could be because of my jumper but its my baby. Or maybe I am just hot ;)

I crossed my fingers that Shivani was going to walk to school, and prayed to God that we could talk about what happened on the weekend.

Shivani started walking with Aliyah and Brindha while Thuli followed them like a lost puppy. Meenu was murmuring to Arianne and  they were both looking at me like I was a freakin clown. There seal like laughs were bleeding my ears and they kept looking and laughing at me. Great both Tweedledum and Tweedledee were walking. They screamed double trouble and they started walking with us to school.

Its okay I told myself, I had Shivani. I'll just talk to her, even if it was for a second because even a second of hearing her melodious voice was heaven and I cherished it. Because despite everything going all around me, I didnt give a flying fly about that, all I cared about was Shivani and only her. Because she made be feel happy, she made me feel alive and she made me feel wanted and needed. She brought the best of me.
