Carmen Sandiego: Rise and Fall

No one expected this to come at ACME that day. One of their own agents suddenly left to pursue a life of crime. It was not just any agent, it was one of their top agents: Carmen Isabella Sandiego.  Carmen was one of the few agents that were beyond anything they have witnessed. She can be a master of disguise, fluent in many languages, a good actress when undercover, an advocate of a trash-free earth, and even an expert on catching criminals. So when she left ACME and went into a life of crime, it was a blindside attack that no one saw coming. People were blamed for Carmen's turn to crime and some of the now-former friends of Carmen like Chase Devineaux were put to the test on figure out Carmen but they had no luck. 

"I admit like many others, this completely took me off guard," The brown and gray-haired Chase Devineaux said sitting in the ACME office with the Silver-haired Chief. "It is tragic that she betrayed us," The Chief said, "But we'll have to figure out where she is. Her turn to crime is tragic and with her agency, we'll have to know what she is planning to save the world to eventually capture her agents and eventually Carmen Sandiego herself." Chase nodded and the Chief let him go.

As Chase Devineaux went out, he saw a woman by the names of Julia 'Jewels' Argent walking over to him. "She briefed you?" Julia asked fixing her glasses. "Yes," Chase said looking past Julia towards the exit.  Julia watched with her brown eyes and looked into Chase's distant brown eyes and studied what he was doing.  She was still young and was only in the field for 2 years.  Chase, on the other hand, has been in the field for 8 years and the gray line in his brown hair shows how stressful it was becoming.  "Do you need help?" Julia asked him. Chase looked at Julia calmly and replied with, "No but I know you will be a great agent. Your expertise in finding clues and going into detail in your journal helps out a lot." Julia smiled at Chase for him complimenting her skills and actually lifting her up as an agent during a tough time. 

Julia Argent was also a former partner of Carmen and she was crushed when she got betrayed but she was also unfairly blamed for the fall of Carmen herself.  It seemed that everyone was going fine until Carmen left and people wanted to figure out who is at fault and rumors were started.  She promised that if she was assigned on a case to catch Carmen, she would do everything it takes.   As for Chase, she noticed that he had the same intention but she wondered if he'll do it with ACME. 

After having the talk with Jula, Chase walked out of ACME headquarters for the day. He was frustrated and upset about the betrayal of someone.  Yet despite the betrayal, he was one of the only agents that knew Carmen longer than anyone. He was debating on making a move to find her and wondered if he should let ACME know or not.  He knew that ACME wouldn't accept his idea to go alone without a partner, but he felt that if ACME decided to make a move on Carmen, she would find out, considering she still has connections to them.  After thinking for a long time, Chase Devineaux made his decision.

Meanwhile, in a dark, underground liar, a woman wearing a red fedora along with a red trench coat was in her private room. She was smiling with glee for she was finally getting what she always wanted, a challenge. "Once I work my way up in the criminal world," she began, "No one will stop me. Not even ACME. I wanted a challenge for so long, catching criminals was just too easy.  Now I have a chance to have the ultimate challenge: Control the world and stop ACME. Let's see if they can catch me." The woman laughed an evil laugh that would send shivers down anyone's spine and she was making plans for her new career.
