Loki's consciousness slowly bled back. Slowly, he woke feeling surprisingly warm and safe. In the haze of dreaming and awaking, he let his mind assume then - that he was in the comfort of his own chamber. Any minute now, Thor would come knocking on his door to get him to join them at breakfast, he would tell Loki that Frigga had made his favorite as always.
But Loki felt so tired. So exhausted it seemed as though he hadn't had a proper sleep in years. Breakfast could wait, perhaps. Loki just wanted to continue savoring this peacefully laziness. He nuzzled his face into the pillow, moaning softly. Only to freeze when it hit.

She couldn't say it was oh so shocking; the fact Thor handed Loki to her without a fight, handing his dying brother to Death herself. But she was a little surprised still, just a little. Sure Thor wasn't that dumb, he knew a lost battle when he saw one. (Good. Maybe he had learned) Even with reluctance, he released his embrace on Loki and let Hela take him.
"Save him," Thor had said. His voice not demanding but pleading. And with him already on his knees in his cell, well, Hela sure did enjoy the sight.
In the end, they would always kneel.
Hela had thought then, perhaps she would toy with him, make him beg more. Make him utter the please. But she wasn't exactly in the mood for game, not right now, maybe another time. Because she was still considered pissed about what the witch - that was the ghost of her mother - did. She wasn't going to tell them that, of course, that would mean deliberately revealing her fault, her letting Frigga manipulate her. So Hela said nothing as she took Loki away.

Hela did not have the first idea about what to do with Loki. Loki - lying limply and dying and unresponsive on the marble floor after she so carelessly tossing him down once she reached her chamber. She was the Goddess of Death, she took lives. She never gave. She could wait until he died of all these wounds and blood loss, then she could resurrect him. That was the only way Hela could think of, but it would be way too complicated for her liking; the process and such. Not fun. Plus, those who came back that way never came back the same. As much as she hated to admit, she'd rather a brother - no, a Jotun rat - to be able to talk and actually think than another of those brainless undead soldiers of her.
She crouched down, inspecting the damage. He was pale, Hela doubted he was normally this pale when he wasn't losing more than half of all the blood in his body. His chest raising and falling slowly, barely still. Maybe I could just, she thought. Maybe she could reverse what she normally did; instead of taking, maybe she could try giving. Hela lingered the palm of her hand over Loki's chest, green and black tendrils of dark seidr - glowing and weaving together, slowly disappearing into his body through his torn out leather clothing. Maybe it could work. Hela retracted her hand immediately when the only thing her action caused was invite more death into his already dying soul.
"Damnit," she cursed under her breath before standing back up. Loki then gasped for air as thought he had just stepped that close to his doom. If she had continued doing that for one second longer, he would've been dead. Damnit, she couldn't do this. Hela only took lives, she did not give one. What the hell was Frigga thinking?
I'm gonna need a drink, she thought before summoning a glass of strong liquor in her hand. Tilting her head backward, she downed the whole thing in five eager gulps. Loki was, well, still dying and she still hadn't the faintest idea how to stop that. Hela carelessly tossed the now empty glass over her shoulder and let it shatter somewhere on the floor. This isn't going to work.
"There is a spell," the voice did startle Hela, but only because she wasn't expecting it. She held back from rolling her eyes then turn around to face the ghost of Asgard's late queen.
