It was the usual Monday evening. My mother, me and my father were all in the living room. I was reading whilst my mother and father were watching television.

Since recently moving to London because of my mothers job I have found it difficult making friends at college. To be honest I HATED college and was always tempted to quit. I had a few 'normal' friends to sit with at lunch. It was better than putting up with the typical bitchiness of the popular girls - I was far from popular. My parent's have always taught me to study hard which is another reason why I was the odd new kid. I guess I just didn't fit in. I hate the pressure of 'fitting in', I am content with who I am.

It was a relatively clear night. I was reading some book I had to do an essay on for my English. My parents were watching the One Show, as they always did.

"How was college Brooke?" My mother asked, eyes fixated on the television.

"Okay, I guess."

"Just okay?" How I hated talking about college. It still pains me to think about it now. I knew my parents wanted me to 'do my best' and they thought sending me to a private college would benefit me.

"Yeah, it was fine mum." I replied.

"Mark, are you okay?" My mother noticed my dad had his hands in his lap.

"Yeah. Its just this god damn headache again."

"There's some paracetamol in the cupboard. Would you like me to get it for you?" She said as she stood up with concern.

"No no, don't worry. Sit down my love. I'm quite capable."

This is it. This is the moment I dread recalling. As he got up to start walking out to the kitchen he just collapsed on to the floor and started uncontrollably shaking. It was like nothing I had seen before. "MARK!" my mother squealed. I didn't know what I was supposed to do. Time went in slow motion and I couldn't stand to watch my father in such an uncontrollable, vulnerable state like that. I literally thought he was going to die in front of me there and then.

"CALL 999 BROOKE! CALL 999. WE NEED AN AMBULENCE!" she screamed desperately. Fear took control of my body. I ran frantically for the phone. I dialled the three numbers any body would dread having to call. My mother was  becoming ever more hysterical.

"Emergency services, how can we help?" said the calm voice on the other side of the line.

"Ambulance" I whimpered, tears streaming down my face as. "I need an ambulance please."
