[ #真紅の名作 ]
THE GIRL REGAINED HER COMPOSURE UPON THE MILLIONAIRE'S cold menacing voice. her countenance was pale, as if she had just regained her consciousness after a bad dream with sweat trickling down her forehead.
she pulled out the wires from her charger slot and stood up, her crestfallen eyes never meeting daisuke's. "i am sorry, if you will excuse me." her voice barely made it out as a whisper in the crisp night as she dragged crimsons across the floor; a blank canvas where she was the artist and it was her blood that created the strokes.
daisuke grabbed her wrist and pinned her down onto the wrinkled bed. his hand came in contact with her chin before tilting it forcefully to have her look him in the eye. "i did not permit you to leave." he remarked, his voice laced with full superiority.
"all of you leave at once." he instructed and immediately, the maids went scrambling out of the room as if they had just witnessed a ghost.
"i'll leave the bandaging to you, young master." after that, yuzuru excused himself with the sound of the door closing behind him.
the room was quiet, with only the faint sound of two breaths tangling together in a ragged manner and the rhythmic drip of emi's blood onto the marble floor below them.
there wasn't even an ounce of pain nor any other emotion present on her facade and it made daisuke want to scoff out loud because of the humor he had found in the being that was trapped in the web that he had spun.
"you really are a robot, huh? doesn't this," his hand clamped around the small accidental cut on her wrist tighter. "hurt?"
"i am incapable of feeling any physical sensations nor any human emotions." she answered curtly. the suppressed scoff that was mixed with a hint of mockery and surprise escaped the detective's lips before he freed her from his grip.
he reached over to the bandages and disinfectant on the bedside table before taking emi's wounds into his care. emi, who just sat there obediently could tell that daisuke had never did these kind of things before considering the fact how loosely the bandages clung onto her injuries but she decided to stay quiet.
"why did you decide to buy me at the auction?" she asked. it wasn't like she had planned on asking the multimillionaire all along, it was a in the spur thing and she herself didn't know why she asked it either.
"there's no point telling you." daisuke replied casually as he finished wrapping up the last bandage around her feet. "a mere mechanical invention like you wouldn't understand anyway."
"so, tell me. what happened?" he asked before leaning against the other side of the wall that wasn't destroyed.
"my system was overwhelmed by an intense feeling earlier that i failed to identify and unconsciously, my body reacted by thinking that it was low on battery. when i am running low on battery, i tend to lose management over my control system until i get charged." emi explained and to daisuke, it felt like she had just read every word from her manual.
daisuke hummed to himself, the urge to soak himself in a long bath with a tobacco cigar hanging by his velvety lips grew bigger with each passing second as he spoke to the non-human in front of him.
"listen." daisuke started, his gaze shifting once again and like a flickered switch, the light in his eyes disappeared and was replaced with an endless void. "from today onward, you are bounded to me for life. you must obey me, and every single of my command, you must fulfill because i bought you and not anyone else."
and with that, he exited the room.
before anyone knew it, dawn had broken out and the morning sunlight was already piercing through the kanbe residency while the household servants bustled about the house busily, minding their own business.
