Brooklyn is sitting alone at the kitchen table drinking a cup of tea when Ben walks into the kitchen and softly smiles at Brooklyn and says "Morning Brooke" and Brooklyn nods and says "Morning Ben" Ben walks towards the kettle and picks up a empty cup and starts to make himself a coffee. Ben glances back to Brooklyn as he looks in concern and asks "You're up early, you get any sleep?" Ben pours the hot water into the cup and stirs the coffee and he walks to the table and sits beside her and Brooklyn shakes her head "Nah, you know me...I can never sleep right at night if I've had a argument with somebody" and Ben nods and he asks "You wanna talk about it?" Brooklyn shakes her head and says "What's to talk about? My Mum let me down" and Ben says "Look, I know Shirley and me dont get along but Shirley loves you and shes a good Mum to you" and Brooklyn nods and says "Yeah I know Ben, I'll talk to her" and Ben smiles and winks at Brooklyn.
Shirley is in The Queen Vic behind the bar when Brooklyn enters The Local Pub. Brooklyn approaches the bar and looks at Shirley and Shirley's gaze locks on Brooklyn and Brooklyn says "Mum, can we talk?" Shirley softly smiles at Brooklyn and says "Of course we can Honey".
Shirley and Brooklyn are sitting at a round table in The Queen Victoria and Brooklyn says "I know you're working and I'm sorry to disturb you at your work" and Shirley says with a gentle smile as she looks at Brooklyn fondly "No, its fine. Dont be daft, I'm sorry for letting you down...I know how much you like this boy and I should have made more of a effort and I'm truly sorry, I'm a terrible Mum" and Brooklyn smiles as she grasps hold of Shirley's hand and says "You're a great Mum, when My Dad turned to the drink and was on drugs and drink growing up, it was you and Ben who raised me but then My Dad cleaned up his act and just cause I stay with him doesn't mean I love you any less. You've done everything you could for me and for that I'm grateful. And I forgive you, you made one mistake" and Shirley chuckles and grins happily and she asks "Really?" and Brooklyn nods and says "I love you Mum, nothing will ever change" and Shirley grins as tears begin to fill her eyes. Shirley says "I will never let you down again Sweetheart" and Brooklyn nods and says "I know Mum" a moment later Shirley says "Move in with me" and Brooklyn asks in shock "What?" Shirley says "I've wanted to ask you for a while now, I just never found the right time Brookie. I want you to move in with me, I'm just rattling around the flat myself, I get lonely" and Brooklyn looks at Shirley.
