Mira's POV

The next days were very awkward between Ash and I, but soon those days turn to weeks and I fully adjust. After around 3 weeks I am fully adjusted.  1 day I wake up in my new bed to nobody. Ash must have woken up early because she is nowhere to be found. I get out of bed and throw on some clothes. I walk towards the kitchen to see Ash making bacon and eggs for breakfast.

"Oh you're up. Made you some breakfast. The pancakes are just about done as well. Orange Juice or milk?" She asks.

"Umm, milk would be fine. Thank you." I say very confused. Not once since we were paired together did she make breakfast, for me or herself. After I take a seat and she hands me 2 pancakes, she also took a seat and started eating. Once we were done I asked why she did this all.

"So, not to be rude or anything, but why did you do this?" I ask her.

"Why did I? I don't know, I just felt like it you know?" She says. I can tell that there is more that she isn't telling me.

"Eliza, I'm not dumb like Jack. You aren't telling me something. You don't have to if you don't want to, but you can. I respect your privacy."

She sighs. "I saw something last night."

"What?" I ask, intrigued.

"It was you, me, and 3 operators on an operation. I went off on my own to flank the enemy, and when I got back to the rendezvous, 3 operators were standing and 1 laying down. I approached to see you were laying down, shot in the chest. You died in my arms moments later. There was nothing I could do except hold you. I cried myself to sleep that night, and I woke up in the real life. Everything was so real, I thought you were gone." She said, almost crying.

"Oh wow, that must have been terrible. I can't believe you went through that. Did anything else happen?" I ask.

"Yeah, actually something big. When I got there you asked for me. I came to your side, and you told me you had something to tell me. I asked what it was, but you never got to tell me."

"Well, I promise you, I will be there. I will always be there for you. The scars I have because of that operation will always be there, just like me." I pull her into a hug, and she accepts.

TIME SKIP

"Can operators Mira, Ela, Echo, Doc, and Jager come to my office for mission briefing? Thank you." I hear over the loudspeaker. I rush to Harry's room to get the mission. I was the second to get there, behind Doc. Once everyone got here, we were briefed. There was a terrorist group holed up in national bank with a hostage who held valuable info on the masks. We were going to clear them out, protect the hostage when reinforcements came, and extract the hostage. I rush back to my room to get geared up. I quickly strip down and toss on my gear. I am all ready with a few minutes left so I go to inform Ash where I will be. I find her in her bed asleep taking a nap. I wish she felt the same. I thought, as over the past weeks, I had developed feelings for her. I wrote her a quick note and kissed the note leaving a smudge of my lipstick. I then kissed her forehead, and went off to the helicopter. I was greeted by the pilot. Once everyone was here and we lifted off, I got a bad feeling in my stomach.

"Are you okay? You look sick." Ela says.

"I got a gut feeling that something bad's gonna happen."

"We'll be fine, don't worry." She says.

TIME SKIP

It was Ela and I who were tasked with flanking the enemy and we were just about to pull it off. Two more rooms and we will be right behind them. Then, tragedy struck. We entered the office room to see a bomber sprint towards us.

"Get down!" I scream and push Ela away. Everything goes black.

Ash's POV

I awoke that night for dinner. I walk into the cafeteria to see that everyone looked sad and bummed.

"What happened?" I ask Ela.

"You might want to sit down for this." She says. I take a seat.

"There was an operation earlier, a normal hostage situation. Mira and I were flanking and a bomber came out of nowhere."

I look around. "Where is Mira?" I ask, and Ela cries. "She pushed me out of the way. She was sent across the room. I tried to get her out, but she told me to leave her. They were coming, and I wanted to get her out but I had to get out. I'm sorry."

I stand up and exit to my room, locking myself in there. I walk to my bed, but before I enter and cry I see a note. It read, "I have to go on a mission, I should be back before bedtime. See you later sis! -Mira" and next to it was a lipstick smudge. I placed the note down and cried myself to sleep. The one person I loved was gone. Yes. I loved Mira.

Mira's POV

I awoke in a foreign room that I had never seen before, chained to the chair.

"Well well, well. The princess is finally awake."

"Who are you? What do you want from me?" I say angrily.

"It is very simple. You tell me the location of Hereford and I give you a bullet in the brain. Tell me now so we can get this over with, or you can see how much torture you can withstand. Nobody has made it 4 months." He chuckles.

"Well looks like we will have a new record holder cause I ain't talking."

"I always enjoy it more when they break slowly." He says.

The chair flipped over, and a wet rag is placed over my face.

I must be strong for Rainbow. I must be strong for my friends. I must be strong for my loved one, Eliza.
