Mira's POV

4 years. 4 years I have spent in this hellhole, and not once did I break. I never will either. The torture has become normal to me. Once you build a tolerance to it, it doesn't hurt as much. I have still looked for ways out, but every time I try, they get foiled. But this one, this one would work. Every other Thursday, they took me out and shot me with paintballs for 2 hours. This was their demise. I grabbed a tiny piece of broken metal that I had found, and when the escort came I would kill him, free myself, and try to survive in the wild. Everything went perfect, and I had escaped into the forest surrounding the outpost. I had no clue what country I was in, but I just kept heading what I assumed was East. I walked and walked for what seemed liked hours, until I reached water. Where this is water, there is civilization. Where there is civilization, there is help. And I needed help, to see Eliza again.

Ash's POV

4 years. It has been 4 dreadful years since Mira had died. I wish everyday I could tell her how I feel. I had kept my sexuality a secret, but once she was gone, there was no hiding it. Everyone told me she felt the same, but I don't know if that helped me or hurt me more. I got up out of my bed, and looked at my wall. There was Elena's note that she had left me 4 years ago. The one thing I had left of her, framed. I exit my room and walk to the cafeteria for breakfast. I sat down to eat, but before I could even start, the loudspeaker speaks up. "Can operators Ash, Sledge, Hibana, Thatcher, and Buck please come to my office for mission briefing? Thank you." I groaned, taking my food with me on the trip there. I finish it up before entering.

"Now that everyone is here, we can start. You 5 will be heading to Australia for 2 weeks on a mission. You will spend the first week undercover at several locations we think are mask locations. The second we will be acting on those sites. You guys leave for the airport in 10 minutes.

Mira's POV

I lurked in the trees, waiting for my chance. I took it, and it succeeded. My wooden spear hit the squirrel and there was dinner. I made a fire, cooked the meat, ate, and kept walking. I didn't plan on stopping until I found civilization, but that could be for miles.

TIME SKIP

2 days of walking later, I made to a small civilization. How I was still alive, I don't know. But I was. I sluggishly walked my way to the hospital, and almost collapsed when I had made it. 2 nurses ran to me. "Mam, we need to get you into a bed, you are absolutely terrible."

"No. I need to know where I am."

They looked at me confused. "Portland, Oregon." One said. Thank god.

"I need to talk to the hospital owner immediately." They didn't move until I screamed. "NOW GODDAMNIT!" One scurried off, and 2 minutes later she returned with an older woman.

"What seems to be the problem here?" She asks.

"We need to talk in private. Now." She looks at me confused, but agrees. She takes me into her office, and I fall onto the chair.

"Why are we here exactly?" She asks.

"Emergency code Rainbow. Now help me."

"Oh shit. Why didn't you say anything earlier?" She rushes to her desk and calls someone.

"I don't know who are masks and who aren't. I couldn't trust anyone."

"I understand. I will call your leader, Harry right?"

I nod. "I might have to talk, he might not believe you, I've been gone for awhile."

"How long is awhile? And he didn't pick up."

"Call again, he always picks up the second time. And 4 years of painful torture. How I am alive is beyond me."

"Oh my god tha-" She stops as Harry picks up. "Hello, is this Six?" "This is Dr. Alvarez at Portland Hospital in Portland Oregon." "Just now I had one of your operators come in my hospital. Procedure told me to call you." "Umm let me ask her." She mutes the phone. "What is your field name?"

"Mira."

She unmutes the phone. "Her field name is Mira." "Yes she is here." She hands me the phone. "He wants to talk to you.

"Hello? Anyone here?" I hear through the phone.

"Is that how you greet an old friend Harry?" I say.

"Holy shit. Is it really you?" He asks.

"Yes, now as much as Dr. Alvarez is nice, Portland is boring and I really need a burger. Please pick me up."

"I am sending Jager right now, he will pick you up at the emergency helipad. And I am pulling Ash off her mission right now. She is gonna be so happy to see you again."

"She is?" I ask.

"She loves you. Still does. And not as friends. She was so sad you were gone."

"I'll see you soon Harry. Thank you." I hang up the phone. "I think I owe you a big thank you Dr. Alvarez." I say to her. She gave me a motherly smile.

"You're so welcome."

Ash's POV

I awake to a call from Harry.

"Harry it's 3 in the morning. What could you possibly want?"

"Something came up. A pilot will pick you up in 15 minutes. Other operators will be notified in the morning. Be ready." And he hangs up. I groan and pack up.

TIME SKIP

I enter Hereford Base to see a lot of commotion around the infirmary. No, not again. Who could it be? Jordan, Jack? Who will die this time? I wonder. I rush to the crowd, and peak through the bodies. I catch a glimpse of somebody, but I couldn't make it out. Doc soon gave the person their privacy by closing the blinds.

"EVERYONE TO YOUR DORMS NOW!" Harry screams behind me. I walk away before he grabs my shoulder and whispers, "Not you." Once it all clears out, Doc comes out.

"She is all set, just don't hurt her too much E." And with that, he leaves.

"Harry, what is going on?" I ask.

"Go see for yourself."

I walk up to the blinds and peak through. There was someone who I never believed I would see again. There was the one person I ever loved. There was Elena.

(A/N): For the like 2 of the people reading this, Dr. Alvarez is Mira's mother, who in the lore abandoned her at birth, leaving Elena with her father.
