The Letter

My beautiful Liz.

I am so so sorry, I hope that you can forgive me. I never wanted this to happen, I know what your saying right now, 'we always have a choice' and Liz you are right as always but if I didn't do what I have had to do then Michael and Isobel would have to do it and I couldn't carry that burden.
I just want you to know that you did nothing to make me choose to go. Liz you are the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me and I am truly sorry.
I don't know when I will be back,it maybe weeks, months or even years. But I need you to live your life for me, for us. Follow our dreams and always be true to yourself.

Please don't wait for me or hold yourself back find someone who makes you happy and I'm sorry that couldn't be me. I really hope that I get the chance to explain all of this to you one day.

I will always remember sitting in the back of the truck, watching the sun go down in our favourite place having you snuggling into me, with the smell of your jasmine shampoo. This is when I realised that you had captured my heart. And I'm sorry for breaking yours.
If you haven't found it already look inside the envelope. I wanted to give it to you on Friday but I couldn't bring myself to.

Liz's heart sank and her tears flowed. She looked inside the envelope, but nothing was there. 'What did Max mean?' She thought suddenly she caught the glimpse of something shining on the floor. Liz bent down and picked up a bracelet. It must have fallen out of the envelope. All of a sudden a calmness fell on to her.

It was a simple thin black leather strap with the most beautiful charm coming from it. Liz had never seen anything so entrancing before. She looked at all the lines seemed so fluid there wasn't a break in the pattern from the cross inside the circle, all the way up to the triangle and over the other side.
She smiled as she put it on wishing Max had given it to her before. Suddenly she jolted as if something had given her an electric shock. It was the same feeling she got whenever she caught Max starring at her, it had become a way of her knowing he was looking at her.
Strange for it to come off this bracelet though, she thought and for the first time in days she felt happy and knowing she now had a purpose.
She was going to live life for the both of them.
