i found myself staring at the giant white cruise ship in front of me. it sat nicely on the calm waters of France, many docking ramps branched off it's sides. families made their way onto the ship, taking bags and suitcases full of luggage. the boat was impressive. coated in a pristine titanium white. tinted slightly blue windows. it's immense size. although i couldn't see what was on deck, i knew it would be flooded with all different kinds of people. there were at least fifty of them leaning over the railing, waving down at the large group bellow them on deck still. the group consisted on hundreds, possibly even thousands of people. either saying goodbye to their loved ones, or boarding this ship themselves.

alanew is the grand ships name. it was traveling from france to the usa, an eight day trip over the atlantic ocean.  once it reaches the usa, it will stay there for a week before eventually carrying on back to france. many people gathered at the dock to watch it set sail for the first time.

my family and i were going on this trip, not as a family vacation though. but as a get a way trip with my future fiancé, alexandre rosaire. he is the heir to nova corporation, our companies competitor.

im guessing you know where this is going.

mine and alexandre's parents arranged to have us married, i didn't get a choice. alex's whole family, and most of mine. seems to only care about money. my mother was slightly against our arranged marriage, as i didn't get to  choose who i was marrying. despite that she say's that 'it's the best for our company', chaleur systems.

i'm assuming my parents agreed to this arrange marriage secretly because of the threat of competing companies. such as alexandre's, nova corporation. or even worse, bankruptcy.

this is my theory on why 'it's the best for our company.'

alexandre rosaire was a dick. although, he had a pleasant side to him, but it was often blinded with the thought of money.

i made my way to the first class docking ramp, going at my mothers pace as i walked beside her. i made sure that i was standing straight with my chin up. most people gathering at the dock would know who my family and myself were, and im told to set a good example for the company. everything seems to be for the company. i could feel curious eyes burning into the back of our heads, some people even sending us scowls and glares.

we were traveling first class, and i couldn't help but notice how the classes were spaced out on the ship. the third class level was right at the bottom of alanew. meaning that if the ship were to sink, the lowest class would be the first to go. whereas it was the direct opposite for the first class, being on the the top level.

i stepped aboard alanew. to everyone else it was the ship of dreams, but to me it was an imprisonment ship. a ship taking me away from my home for weeks on end, trapping me with alexadnre's family and my own.
