Lucas's POV
After Austine had been taken home, I wondered what had happened to her. Nothing bad, I hoped. But something lagged in my mind that wasn't going to be true. I flung my backpack onto the couch and got myself a banana for a snack. I debated over calling Austine, but I decided not to. If she wanted to tell me something then she would.
After supper I did my homework for what seemed like hours. My eyes kept flashing to the phone, hoping to get some call from Austine and find out what was going on. When I finally finished my work, I let me pencil roll across the table as I stretched back in my seat. It was nearly ten o'clock, which meant I had to get to bed soon. I heaved a sigh, but then my eyes caught sight of something. There, in the little nook on my desk was a small black and red box. I stared at it for a moment, curious as to how it got there. A second later I picked it up, then opened it up. Something miraculous happened. An orangish sparkly ball formed in mid air. I dropped the box in surprise. A second later some kind of small, and strange creature formed. It was small like some kind of insect, but it had a beak and it was floating in mid-air. I suppressed a scream as I grabbed a baseball bat from the corner of my room. I didn't want to frighten my family, and I half-thought I was hallucinating. When the bright orb finally disappeared, the strange little creature let out a yawn. And then it started to talk.
"Ah! Finally. Freedom after nearly one hundred years! Wait how long has it been?" The creature said in its low yet high voice. It looked around, and then let out a terrified scream when it saw me. "Ah! No, no, please don't hit me! Or kill me! Or capture me!" It put it's small little hands around its eyes. I stared at it, trying to convince myself that I was dreaming. It however seemed real.
"What-how? What are you?" I finally asked. I had no idea what to do. This had to be the oddest moment of my life. Here I was, not sure if I was talking to myself or some unusual creature. The little thing finally looked up at me.
"Oh, and introduction! I am Rimm, the kwami of courage." It said. I examined it a bit closer.
"Kwami?" I asked him.
"Ah, yes. I see no one has explained anything to you. I can grant you magical powers if you put on that miraculous over there." For a second I let my eyes drift to the box which had fallen to the floor. Inside it was a pendant of some kind, which resembled the colors of a hawk.
"Magical powers?" I once again questioned if I was dreaming.
Rim rolled his eyes. No one has told you anything, have they?" I shook my head in agreement. Rimm floated down towards the miraculous and picked it up.
"This is the Hawk Miraculous of Courage and I am its Kwami! When you put the miraculous on, you have to say Rimm, flap your wings! And then wala! Your a superhero!"
I just stared. This couldn't be real, could it?
"Wait, wait, wait. Miraculous as in Ladybug and Cat Noir?" I asked, suddenly remembering how Ladybug always said miraculous Ladybug before changing everything back.
"If you mean the wielders of the Ladybug and Cat miraculouses, then you would be correct. Plagg still owes me for that piece of cheese..." Rimm trailed off, and I let my mind wonder for a minute. Me? A hero? Could any of this really become a reality? Or was it even real for that matter? At first it seemed shocking, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized I wanted it. I never did quite fit in. I guess it was because I thought I was meant to do something else. Well maybe this was it.
"Anymore questions?" Rimm asked.
"How did I get this miraculous?" The question still remained as to how it got in my bedroom.
