Chapter Two
Louis had bid Gen and her family goodbye, seeing they all loved the dress -- even the brother. Finally this guy has some sense of what is hot and what is most certainly not, Louis had thought, with a subtle roll of the eyes when he agreed.
He approached Kamie's block, his khaki jacket clinging tightly to his clothes. He finally got to her flat door, ringing the bell. He huffed, waiting for a few seconds before the door finally opened.
"BooBear!" Kamie smiled, jumping into her best friend's arms happily. Louis sighed at the childish nickname, but nonetheless, smiled, accepting the hug.
"Kamie!" he chuckled. They pulled back, and Louis adjusted his suspenders and ran a finger lightly through his -- ugh -- ungelled hair.
Kamie was one of Louis' closest friends. She had moved from New York a few years back, and her and Louis met at Uni. She had long, dark hair, cute glasses, was Asian, and super bubbly. She was what kept Louis planted.
"Come in!" she said, leading him into her flat. "Yorkshire Tea?" she suggested, noticing the weary expression on Louis' face.
"You know me too well. Yes please." he said, slumping on Kamie's sofa, and crossing his leg over the other.
"Coming right up," she chirped, walking into the kitchen. Louis looked around the dark green living room. His eyes fell to the brown coffee table. His eyebrows pulled together as he quickly grabbed the stack of magazines. Wedding magazines? Ooh la la he mentally remarked, flipping through them curiously, looking at the different mags. Some with quaint, sweet ideas, and others big and extravagant, and some kinda cheap and Not-Really-Worth-One's-Time themes.
He pursed his lips. Lots of articles on Will and Kate... Ooh, Bridal Guide, Brides, Wedding Bells, Real Weddings, BR, David's Bridal, Bude, Wedding, The New Yorker Wedding Edition, Martha Stewart, Modern Bride -- all the top magazines. Louis perused a few of them. Ick, that mag is off the list he pulled a face a one of them.
"Ah, you've found those, I see."
He turned to face Kamie, who was blushing madly. She handed Louis a cuppa. "Thank you," He replied, taking a little sip before setting it down on the coffee table. Louis patted the spot beside him, indicating for Kamie to come sit down.
There was a moment of silence, before Louis looked into Kamie's eyes knowingly. "He popped the question, didn't he?" Kamie's face lit up as she held her hand up, showing off a large, elegant diamond. The two jumped up and embraced tightly, both letting out cheers of excitement. Their cheeks hurt, they were smiling so hard. "This is amazing... When?" Louis asked, clapping his hands together with great thrill.
"He proposed yesterday.." Kamie breathed, grinning ear to ear.
"Awww, I'm so happy for you and George. You honestly deserve this so much," Louis beamed, dreamily keeping his hands clasped together tightly.
Kamie's boyf- fiancé's name was George Shelley. He kinda looked like a younger Louis, funnily enough (well, a straight one). He also had some other aspects. He was adorable. Louis very much approved when Kamie disclosed her admiration of him. They were such a happy couple.
