Mikasa returns to Armin's place late that evening when the skies start to blend a type of dark blue hue. The breezy winds starts to sweep by and the eeriness the streets possessed with nothing but lamppost illuminating the paths makes Mikasa all the more itching to get inside.
Warm encases her when she steps over the threshold leading to Armin's generic household. Bathing in the warmth, Mikasa slowly meanders around the house to find the small blonde when she hadn't seen him on sight. She calls out to him in monotone. "Armin? You here?" She checks the kitchen and living room before heading knocking at the closed door that lead to his room.
No response came, and at first Mikasa was just assuming Armin was sleeping. But when she twists the knob to the door open she was greeted with silence once again, an empty room basking her view with darkness.
"His door was wide open and he's not here? Something must have happened," Mikasa concludes with a transient overview of the details plainly given. She whistles softly as she closes the door to his room and to the guest room she neighbored in and set her things down.
Mikasa had been quite bummed out that Armin wasn't here. She had initially planned to inform him of her leaving the day of Eren's wedding day. But now that he wasn't here she had begun to contemplate her decisions. She knew they would be heartbroken at the news and it's not like she wanted to leave them behind. Japan just brought too many haunting memories for her to tolerate. It was mere torture than paradise.
However, she also didn't want them to think it was their faults. They would only mourn their weakened friendship, and wish that if they known this would happen they could go into the past and alter some things. But Mikasa didn't want that. Leaving silently also seemed to be better but too heartbreaking at the same time. She loves her friends and always will. Leaving unceremoniously like that would cause great heartache for all of them.
"Maybe I should host a going away party?" Mikasa says aloud to herself with a pondering hum as she sits on her bed, slouching in posture as she plays with her phone between her fingers. "I don't have much money to buy any decorations...then again it won't be anything far from a simple party. Maybe I shouldn't have one. It'll only be sad."
Mikasa pretty much had her fill of parties anyway. They were time consuming and would only prolong their emotions. She didn't know what to do. There wasn't much she could do. She would be leaving soon and wouldn't ever come back to Japan for good. There were some things she wanted to do before she left, but there wasn't enough time to do it all in just a few days.
Oh, well. There was no use in stressing about a situation that was only days away. With no one around it made handling the stress now a bit more bearable.
"I do plan on telling Eren tomorrow that I am leaving...but I wanted the others to know before him," Mikasa sighs with a tight knot wedged in her throat. At one point Mikasa figured that leaving silently was less painful. By the time they realize it'll only be days upon she had left for them to take into account her missing present - or so she hoped.
Telling Eren was a must; more of a priority then telling her friends. Pulling out her phone, Mikasa opens up Eren's contact name and opens the chat box, biting down on her chapped lips to decide whether she should commit to formulating some sort of arrange meet-up. It doesn't take her long to cerebrate and make up her mind. She quickly taps in a message reading: "Hey...can we meet tomorrow around noon? There's something I want to tell you."
Mikasa doesn't wait for a message back. In the morning she'll send a fixed location for where they would meet up and if Eren doesn't attend then that'll make up her mind for everything else. With her phone off Mikasa began to pack her things, bagging everything she owned. She checks over the house to ensure she wasn't leaving anything stranded out in the open and neatly stacks them aside each other in the far corner of the room next to the dresser.
