"so, what do you think?" mackenzie asked, opening the door, seeing her boyfriend sitting there.
nolan turned, eyeing his girlfriend. "oh fuck, come here." mackenzie got on his lap, and kissed him.
"hurry up, my mom will be here soon." mackenzie moaned into his mouth, unbuttoning his jeans.
"fuck i love you."
—
"shit." mackenzie hissed, flushing the toilet. she looked at the floor. "greg!"
"what's with-" greg stopped when he saw his stepdaughter standing over a small puddle of blood. "fuck!"
he rushed mackenzie to the hospital, but mackenzie knew what had happened. "hello mackenzie, i'm dr. andrews." a smiley doctor appeared by mackenzie's hospital bed.
"i know what happened." mackenzie said, looking at her feet.
"that may be, but there's more that happened."
"i was pregnant, most likely my 7th week. i've been stressed, very stressed. the baby couldn't take the stress." mackenzie looked at her doctor, "am i wrong?"
"not entirely." dr. andrews showed her an ultrasound, "this showed there were two babies."
"great." mackenzie said sarcastically, looking at the ceiling, trying not to cry.
"what happened?" nolan rushed to her side, "are you ok?"
"i'm fine-"
"who are you?" dr. andrews asked.
"i'm her boyfriend. what's wrong?" nolan asked.
dr. andrews looked at mackenzie, and mackenzie looked at nolan, "i had a miscarriage."
nolan shook his head, trying not to believe it as he let go of mackenzie, slowly stepping back. "n-no, that can't be. you couldn't have been pregnant."
"yes, i was."
"than i wasn't the father." nolan's eyes grew darker, "you slut!" he rushed forwards and slapped her, right across the face.
"security!" dr. andrews yelled.
"you fucking slut. you were cheating on me and got pregnant!"
"i never cheated!" mackenzie screamed, crying.
"your liar!" nolan yelled, just as security came to get him, "you're just like last year, a worthless ugly, pig who deserves to die!" 2 shots. blackness.

present
mackenzie tracer over her stomach, a scar. they dated for 3 months, and yet he got her pregnant, shot her, and left her with a forever scar in her heart. he had a gun in his belt, right before security tackled him, he shot twice. once in her stomach, and thankfully he missed her head by an inch, hitting the pillow.
yet she loved him. the necklace she wore, he gave that to her on their first date at the carnival. he won it after spending $40 on a game. he missed every single time but the person working the booth got tired of him hogging up the game so she just gave it to him.
"you hurt him." hayden blurted, startling mackenzie. "why would you say that?"
mackenzie looked up, "nolan is dead. my one love is dead hayden."
hayden sighed, sitting by mackenzie on her bed, "he's not your love anymore, and after what he did, what he said to you mackenzie-" mackenzie looked down, "why do you still think he would be your only love?"
"because i'm incapable of loving someone else like i loved him."
"no you're not." mackenzie shook her head, "you know you can, you don't believe you can, that's it."
mackenzie knew he was right, "i wish i could love him."
"nolan?"
"johnny." hayden nodded, "i wish i could so better wouldn't get hurt. but i can't and never will love him more like my best friend."
"he knows that kenzie. how many times-"
"hayden, i'm incapable of loving someone again, after what happened. i let down my walls and ended up having a broken heart and broken rib." mackenzie stood up, fixing her bikini, "i'm gonna go-"
"go." she ran, and searched the entire beach until she saw a swing set. she ran towards it, and saw it empty, besides one person.
"you here to apologize?" johnny asked, seeing from the corner of his eye, mackenzie sitting in the swing besides him.
"yes." mackenzie said, getting comfortable, "i'm sorry. i just-"
"you still love him."
"no!" mackenzie interjected, "hayden made me realize, i'm afraid to let my guard down again. i'm sorry i said those horrible things."
"i know you meant it."
"no, i didn't."
"yes you did mackenzie. we both know i have a weak spot for you, you know i'd do anything for you."
"and that's bad?"
"it's a weakness mackenzie. remember what you told me when we first met?"
"do you wanna know my secret?" mackenzie asked johnny, "never show your weakness. or else everyone will use it against you."
