Breathing heavily, I glared at my bracelet and thought for a short moment. Looking around the room, I tried to find something that could help me 'seek a way out'. Quickly trudging through the water, I made my way over to the curtain on the left of the wall.

Opening it up revealed a full-sized mirror with a black key taped to the center. Before I took it off, I took notice of my gaunt appearance. My god, I look so... ghoulish... What happened to me? My sweater and black basket shorts were rather grungy and dirty looking. Luckily, my hairbow was still on my wrist, and I quickly put my faded blue hair into a ponytail. As I looked into the mirror, staring into my own grey eyes, my memory hit me like a freight train.

I was going for my routine nightly walk, like normal. During it, the feeling of being watched was pestering me, but I brushed it off, as I can be paranoid sometimes. I should have listened to my intuition/gut because all of a sudden:

Clink!

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh...

White smoke immediately surrounded me, filling my lungs. I panicked, trying to run but the feeling of drowsiness overtook my body, causing me to collapse. Before I completely blacked out, I heard an electronic voice come from behind me.

"Hehe... you have been chosen to participate in a game. The New Nonary Game." Was all it said. I tried to see who it was but could only manage to catch a glimpse of a black gas mask.

My head started to pound when I came back to reality. "Why is this happening...?" I groaned. Angrily ripping the key off the wall, I huffed and looked down, when I had an epiphany. I get it... I thought, turning the black key over in my hand. I clenched it in my fist around it and looked at the large metal door.

"It's a puzzle! Isn't it?!" I screamed, observing my surroundings. "What could I unlock...?" It wasn't the door, it didn't have a freaking keyhole... I made my way over to the bed to sit and think, when the boat rocked violently, causing me to slam into the wall and fall in the water.

SPLOOSH!

"Ow..." I moaned in pain. I rubbed my arm and turned to look for the source of the sound, which I found in no time. It was a small black box that appeared to have fallen in the water. Thank GOD for the boat moving! I crawled to the box and shoved the stupid key into the key hole and turned it.

A small click! was heard and the lid popped open. Inside were some cards numbered 1-9, and a slip of paper. I grabbed the cards first, then quickly scanned over the paper, reading the words on it. Instructions for the room! Great!

'Before you are nine cards. Create a digital root of '5' and open the door.

You may only use three cards to create the digital root.

Keep adding numbers until you get a single digit. Example;

(4+5+9= 18 ) (1+8= 9)

Seek A Way Out."

What the FUCK is this about??? I stared at the paper, befuddled. That was cut short by the sudden onset roaring of the water coming through the window.

"SHIT!" I cried as I stood up, looking at the window. Rushing to the door, I whipped out the cards and stared at them.

"Create a digital root of '5' and open the door." I uttered to myself, trying to think. "Only 3 cards??" My life is on the line right now, as the water was now up to my knees. "Okay think about it, May... simple addition..."

Almost instantaneously, the answer popped into my head. "Aha! I got it!" I took out the cards 9, 4, & 1.

(9+4+1= 14) (1+4=5)

I swiped them through the purple slot and pulled the lever down so hard that it snapped off. I put the broken lever in my pocket, because I didn't know what to do with it. Instead of the low beep from before, it made a high pitched beepbeepbeep! before the door groaned and slid open, letting the water rush out.

As fast as my legs could carry me, I rushed out, my bracelet pinged, and new words appeared on the screen.

"YOU FOUND IT!"
