Chapter 5 : Emily's Lie

[scene Emily’s room]
(Karen waking Emily up)
Karen : Ms Emily, please wake up, it’s already morning.
Emily : ( gets up) what!? Oh God I overslept, I gotta go
Karen : wait!! Ms Emily (Emily exits) (in low voice)  young master has a company.
( Emily bumps into Leonardo as she’s running down on the stairs)
Leonardo : ( grabs Emily) oops, Are you ok!? Ms
Emily : (to herself, who is he!? ) yeah, I’m ok.
Mark : ( to Emily) why are you rushing for? Watch your steps.
Leonardo : (to Mark) it’s the first time I’ve seen her around.
Mark : (looks at Emily and smiles ) yeah, she’s my new maid, ( to Leonardo) this way. ( they walk and Leonardo gazing at Emily)
Emily : ( to herself)  why why is he staring at me like that!?
[scene in the reception room Leonardo, Mark and Emily are there]
( Emily pour tea)
Emily : ( to Leonardo) I’m really sorry.
Leonardo : it’s ok ( Emily dries his shirt and Leonardo staring at her).
Mark : ( to Leonardo) don’t you dare Leonardo, she’s mine.
Leonardo : what!? Since when you interested in this type
Emily : ( to herself what are they talking about)
Mark : ( point to Emily) come here ( Emily walk to him) look at Leonardo
Emily : what!?
Mark : just do it ( she’s looking) is he your type of men?
Emily : w-what!?
Mark : ( stare at Emily) say it or you will be grounded.
Emily : what with you? (looks at Leonardo) No, he’s not.
Leonardo : whaat!? Why!?what’s wrong with me!
Mark : ( laughs) then it’s fine, (to Leonardo) Leonardo she’s my a little sister.
Leonardo : ( in shock) huh!? what!? Are you kidding?
Emily : I’m Emily Christopher, nice to meet you.
Leonardo : ( stands) I’m Leonardo Wesley, nice to meet you too. ( to Mark) but I didn’t know you have another sister than Ms Eva.
Mark : she wasn’t living with us.
Leonardo : why!?
Mark : no need to know.
Leonardo :  Ehh! You so mean, I’m just curious. Then why she’s wearing as a maid.
Mark : ( stare at Leonardo with scary look)
Leonardo : what!? I can’t even ask this. Aah, then why you don’t bring her with you to the party.
Mark : ( to Emily) hey, do you want to come, No it’s not it, I mean you’ll come to party tonight.
Emily : ( to Mark in low voice) but I've never been in a party before.
Mark : don’t worry, you’ll be fine.
Leonardo : what!? What is it!?( Mark stare at him) ok, I got it, I’ll shut my mouth.
[scene entrance hall, Mark and Leonardo are there]
Leonardo : don’t forget to bring your cute sister to the party.
Mark : why are you talking while facing the another side?
Leonardo : cuz I’m sure there’s a scary look on your face. Anyway, see you tonight.
Mark : don’t say it in a weird way, it’s sucks.
Leonardo : don’t take it seriously, bye bye. ( exits)
[scene in the hallway, Emily and Fiona Are there]
( Fiona swipes down the floor)
Emily : need any help with that.
Fiona : Ms Emily, no I can do it by myse.. ( puts her leg in the bucket and falls down) ouch.
Emily : Ard you ok?
Fiona : I guess so.
Emily : let me help you.
( two of them swiping the floor as madam and Ms Sophie enter)
Madam: Emily!? What are you doing!? Why you’re wearing this clothes ( to Sophie) Sophie didn’t I tell you to start her lessons today.
Ms Sophie : I’m sorry, ma’am, we will start now ( to Emily) please come with me. (they exits)
[ scene in the library]
Ms Sophie : ( puts a lot of books on the table) we will start with this.
Emily : o.. Ok.
Mark : ( enters) Sophie start teach her dancing.
Ms Sophie : young master!! Of course but after we finish this books.
Mark : we don’t have time, she will go to the party tonight.
Ms Sophie : about that! She’s not coming, she has to finish this first, young master.
Mark : Sophie do you remember when I was young you were teaching but I was running away the whole time , we will do the same tonight so just teach her how to dance.( Emily laughs in secret).
Ms Sophie : Hmm, Ms Emily we will start with dancing lesson.
Emily : huh! Ok
Mark : ( to Emily) see you later ( exits)
Ms Sophie : let’s get started.
[ scene Emily’s room, Karen and Emily are there]
Emily : I’m beat, Ms Sophie so strict.
Karen : I hope you can dance now. By the way, young master send this gift to you.
Emily : huh!? Gift!? ( open the Gift)
Karen : wow! What a beautiful red dress. There’s a letter!
Emily : ( open the letter and read it ) “stupid girl I hope the dress will suit you”, such a jerk.
Karen : Ms Emily, there’s something I have to tell you.
Emily : yeah, sure.
Karen : i’ll quit working here.
Emily : huh!? Why!?
Karen : me and my husband will move out to America, cuz his job, so I will leave tomorrow, I’m sorry.
Emily : it’s ok, Karen. But you have to tell me before you leave.
Karen : sure, and now let me help to get dressed for the party.
Emily : Hmm.
Karen : It’s really suit you well.
Emily : l feel weird when I remember that the dress from that demon.
[scene in the entrance hall, Mark Eva Emily and Karen are there]
Emily : ( to Eva) are you coming too?
Eva : yeah, cuz Andrew will be there too.
Emily : ( shock) Andrew!?
Mark : let’s go we will be late.
Karen : ( to Emily) have fun.
(They get in the coach)
Mark : (to Emily) what are you so nervous for!?
Emily : Eh? Nothing.
Eva: (to Emily) no need to be that sad, just imagine you never met him.
Mark : what are you talking about!?
Eva : nothing, you’ll know later.
Emily : (clinch).
[scene at the party in Wesley’s mansion]
Leonardo : (to Mark) my friend, I really miss you ( Mark pushes him away) (to Emily and Eva) welcome to our party, (to Emily) Ms Emily wow! You look so beautiful in the red dress.
Eva : oh, it’s Andrew (Emily shocks)
Andrew : you all are here.
Mark : long time no see. Andrew
Andrew : Aah, how have you been?
Mark : same as always.
Andrew: ( to Emily) I’m glad to see you here, Emily.
Emily : uh-huh,
Leonardo : (to Andrew) isn’t Ms Emily so cute.
Eva : (pulls Andrew) let’s dance.
Andrew : Eh!? Wait, ( they leave to dance)
Leonardo : he didn’t even answer me. ( someone call Leonardo and Mark ) ok we’ll go for now, enjoy the party Ms Emily ( Emily looks at Andrew)
Mark : ( to Emily) I didn’t bring you to the party to see that sad look on your face.
Emily : huh!?
Mark : just enjoy the party. (they go) (to himself) why do i care if she looks sad? What’s matter with me!?
Emily : (looks at Eva and Andrew while they’re dancing) (to herself) I guess she’s going to tell him, why am I all sad? It’s not like he have feelings for me or anything, maybe she’s right he was nice with me cuz he’s a good person.
(in another side Andrew and Eva)
Eva : can’t you stop looking at her.
Andrew : what!?
Eva : you’re keeping look at Emily, do you like her!?
Andrew : (smiles).
Eva : are you going to like her even if you know her real identity.
Andrew : what are you talking about!?
[scene in the terrace]
(Emily staring at the stars as Andrew enters)
Andrew : Are you here? I was looking for you.
Emily : ( silent).
Andrew : Emily, Are you ok!?
Emily : yeah, I suddenly remember there’s something I have to do. (walks)
Andrew : (grab her hand) wait! Emily, why are you keep avoiding me?
Emily : (silent)
Andrew : look at me and tell me, did I do something wrong?
Emily : it’s not it.
Andrew : then, what is it!?
(pause)
Emily : can I ask you a question?
Andrew : sure, what is it?
Emily : what if someone lied to you, are you.. are you going to hate him?
Andrew :Emily, it depend on that lie, y’know sometimes people lie to prevent bad things to happen, and sometimes they lie cuz they don’t want other people to get hurt ( looking at each other).
Emily : I’m glad to know you think in this way.. But ….(clinch) but even though, I have something to tell you.
Andrew : sure, go ahead
Emily : I I’m I’m not a member of Christopher’s family, I’m not what you think, sorry (clinch).
Andrew :(Andrew hugs Emily) Emily, what kind of person do you think am i, Emily
Emily : Eh!?
Andrew : (touch her face)
(they kiss)
Time lapse
Andrew : I’d thought it’s impossible a nice girl like you to be Mark and Eva’s sister ( they laugh) but do remember your real family.
Emily : No, I moved to the orphanage when I was 5, but  yet I don’t remember anything about them i lost my all memories, I come here to see if I can find something about them.
Andrew : I’m sure you will find them.
Emily : yeah I hope so, but what of they don’t want me, I mean what if they left me in the first place, I really can’t keep thinking about it.
Andrew : I don’t think it was like that, just be optimistic.
Emily : yes.
Andrew : (extend his hand) will you dance with me!? (she grab his hand).
Emily : sure.
(Andrew and Emily dance)
Emily : it’s my first time to be in a party, sorry if I can’t dance well.
Andrew : you’re ok, you are not that bad.
Emily : yeah, it’s after 5 hours training.
(cut to Eva talks to her friends and stare at Emily and Andrew)
Lisa: I didn’t know you have a sister, but she really get along with Andrew, do you think they are..
Eva : humph, I don’t think so, cuz he nice with all girls.
Molly : yeah, Eva is right, he’s always nice , he’s like a prince.
(cut to Mark carries wine surrounds with girls and stares at Emily).
( cut to Leonardo and Marco talk)
Leonardo : Mark, so popular with girls, I really envy him.
Marco : it’s not like you are not, you always go out with tons of girls.
Leonardo : yeah, but still it’s different.
Marco : your life will be miserable if you think that way.
(Emily and Andrew finish dancing)
Mark : ( to girls) excuse me for a while. ( puts his wine away and walks to Emily and Andrew) ( to Emily with scary face) it’s my turn (to Andrew) get out of my way, prince.
Andrew : no need to be so intense ( to Emily) I've really enjoyed dance with you (walk to Marco and Leonardo).
Emily : ( all blush)
Mark : tuch, why are you blushing for? (they start to dance) you look so stupid in this red dress, you shouldn’t have wore it.
Emily :  did you forget, it’s your stupid taste.
Mark : ( smile) Aa, you’re right.
(Back to Leonardo Andrew and Marco)
Leonardo : How come Mark left all the girls and dance with his sister, it’s really weird.
Marco : yeah, so weird and I never seen him dancing with Ms Eva.
Leonardo : I smell a rat, (in shock) maybe he falls in love with his sister !?
Marco : you went to far.
Leonardo :What do you think Andrew!?
Andrew : ( drinks wine and look at Emily) you’re just over thinking.
Leonardo : you think so, but he really look different with her.
[scene outside of the Wesley’s mansion]
Emily : ( to Leonardo) it was a great party, I really enjoyed it.
Leonardo : I’m glad to hear that, Aah, if you hear that Mark will visit me just come with him to see me.
Emily : yeah .
Leonardo : ( hugs Mark) I already miss you.
Marco: why don’t you guys just get married you will never get separated.
Mark : get away from me, it’s sucks, ( to Marco) and you stop saying weird things.
Emily : (laughs)
Andrew : ( to Emily) you look cuter when you’re smiling.
Emily : ( blushes).
Mark : ( to Emily) tuch, come on, we’re leaving.
Emily : why are you so angry for?
Marco: where is Ms Eva.
Leonardo : Aah, she already left.
Emily : ( to Andrew) see you later, Andrew.
Andrew : see ye Emily.
Mark : see you guys.
All : see ya.
[scene Eva’s room]
(she staring out of the window) (remembers what happened in the party)
Andrew : what you’re talking about!?
Eva : as I told you Emily not my real sister, my father adopted her, she’s just an orphan girl.
Andrew : do you really think I’m that kind of person who would care about stuff like that, I really don’t care.
(present time)
Eva : ( clinch) I’m not gonna give up to an orphan girl.
[ scene in the coach, Mark and Emily are there]
Emily : can I ask you something?
Mark : what?
Emily : How long do you know Andrew?.. What.. What that scary look on your face?
Mark : if you want to know just go and ask him.
Emily : you’re so mean. (Mark pulls her on his lap)
Mark : if I answer you’ll have to pay me back.
