Third's POV:Entering the living room, Noah was greeted by a talking Jocelyn and Luke, who seem to be deep in their conversation if they didn't hear him entering. «Hey. » He caught their attention, as a smile grew on their faces. He first went to Jocelyn, wrapping an arm around the woman when she went for a tight hug, kissing the top of her head. It became a habit now.
«How are you, honey? » She smiled up at him, releasing him from the hug, watching as he went to hug Luke. Noah shrugged his shoulders, braking the hug with Luke. «The usual. » They frowned upon hearing that, noticing the little eye bags. «Still having nightmares? » Luke asked with slight worry, even though he knew the answer. Noah lightly tensed, but slumped, nodding his head. They sighed.
«Noah, if you'd let Dot—! » Noah was ready to disagree with Jocelyn's idea, but was cut off when they heard Clary calling out for his name. «Noah! » The said boy turned around, smiling softly as she tackled him in a hug. «Congratulation, Clare. » He chuckled, hugging her gently, careful with his strength, while he let her squeeze him to death. She giggled, a bright grin on her lips as she broke the hug with him.
«Thanks! I'm so happy! » She grinned up at him, not noticing the slight sadness that flashed through his eyes, quickly vanishing as it did so. «Happy birthday. » He held the bag in front of her, earning a surprised gasped, looking at him in disbelief. «You didn't. » He only smirked, taking out the gray velvety box, Clary's mouth going agape.
Taking it delicately, Clary opened the box with anticipation, a gasp leaving her lips, looking up at him in disbelief, before looking at her mother, who only smiled, shaking her head amusingly. «I'm not blind, y'know. » He chuckled with slight amusement dancing in his deep ocean blue eyes. Taking the necklace, he made her face the other way, moving her hair out of the way while clasping the necklace around her neck, the cool metal sending small shivers down her spine.
She looked down at the necklace, feeling overwhelming emotions brewing in her heart, spinning to face her brother like figure. She looked up at him with a wide grin. «You're the best big brother ever! » His heart swelled with joy upon hearing her words, a laugh erupting from everyone, including him as he hugged her back when she tackled him in a hug again. «'Course I am. » He playfully flaunted, earning chuckles and a small smack in the arm.
He let her go and watched as she went to hug Luke, standing besides Jocelyn, who leaned against him. He could feel how she was nervous, so he put a reassuring arm around her, rubbing her shoulder. No words needed to be said, but Jocelyn was glad at the slight comfort the werewolf boy was giving her, lightly easing her heart.
