(For this, imagine the disguise Dri puts on looks like Kristen Bell or someone pretty and blonde who looks nothing like her. So sorry for not posting like I said I would. Things have been quite crazy recently.)
I stand in front of the group of kids. "As you all know, we're leaving for Europe tomorrow morning. I'd like to introduce you to our third chaperone that's accompanying us on the trip. This is Ms. Douborde"
"Thank you, Mr. Harrington. You guys do not know me, but I am from the school board. I am here to ensure that this trip goes smoothly. Due to recent events, we have a new policy that a member of the school board's safety team accompany's students on long distance field trips. Feel free to come to me for anything." I locate 3 faces in the group. Adam's, Peter's, and Anthony's. "Truly anything."
"Thank you, Ms. Douborde. Now, we want to see all of your faces here, in the parking lot, at 5 AM sharp. Don't forget your passports!" Mr. Harrington yells as the students walk out of the classroom. "So... School board safety team?"
I press my lips together. "Yeah. Living the dream," I let out a sigh. Harrington chuckles softly. "Well, I better get going." I point to the door.
"Yeah, me too. See ya- uhh, see you in the morning!"
I point to him and nod as i walk out. When I'm away from the door, I let out a heavy sigh and shake my head.
I stand in the school parking lot, holding the phone to my ear. "No, I told you. It's the third button then turn the knob to normal."
"How am I supposed to know? You always do the washing."
I let out a chuckle. "You gotta learn how to the work the washing machine eventually."
"Is it supposed to be beeping at me?" Loki asks through the phone.
"Yes," I smile. "It's just leveling out. You put the detergent in, right?"
"O.. Of course. That's the blue bottle, right."
"Wait, light blue or dark blue."
"Uhhh... Dark."
"Yes, that's the detergent." I look to see everyone loading on the bus. "I-I gotta go. Love you."
"I love you too." I hang up the phone.
I load onto the bus. "Who was that?"
I turn Mr. Harrington. "Excuse me?" I laugh. His eyes go wide for a moment.
"Never mind." He stands up and starts going over the rules with the students.
I walk behind Mr. Dell. "So, do you want the first shift of the second? I can take either."
"Give me the third shift," Mr. Dell says. "I'll take an ambien."
"Wait, I can't chaperone these kids alone."
"Yo, Parker!" A voice speaks up from the other side of the plane. "This is called an airplane. It's like the buses you're used to, but it flies over the poor neighbors instead of driving through them."
"Ma'am, he blipped, so technically he's 16, not 21."
I let out a chuckle as I walk. I take my seat beside of Mr. Dell. I open my book and begin reading. a few hours later, Mr. Harrington turns around to me. "Are you okay to take the next shift? I'm getting a little tired."
"Of course. Go to sleep."
He nods and turns back around. I notice Adam and Anthony sitting next to each other on the plane. They're laughing and talking quietly. I smile softly. After a while, I watch Peter get out of his seat. I want to say something to him, but I'm undercover. I shake my head and return to my book.
