My current location, my office. I hear someone yell. What the hell is happening out there. I get up and walk toward the noise. As i approach, i see Nancy standing there, frozen and a man that's yelling at her. I need to control this situation.

I approach the man "Sir, sir, could you please calm down and explain what is going on? Nancy?."

The man starts to speak "I'm ruined, everything is ruined. She promised she would fix it, but didn't do a damn thing!"

I looked at Nancy and nothing, she stayed quiet.

Sigh, what the hell went wrong. Damage control it is.

"Sir, would you please walk with me to my office so you can explain what exactly got ruined. Otherwise i can't help you."

I looked him in the eyes, hoping my message reached him and luckily, it did. He stopped yelling and nodded. "Thank you, please follow me."

I looked at Nancy "I want you in my office later." and we entered my office.

"Do you want anything to drink, sir?"

He shaked his head "No, thank you. I just want this problem to be fixed."

"Okay, can you please tell me what the problem is?" I grabbed my notepad and a pen and was ready to write every important information down. He started to talk.

I understood the man's panic, after learning what the issue was.
Basically, Nancy was supposed to fix some legal stuff for this man sitting in front of me, but failed to do so.

I look at the man and try to reassure him that we will right this wrong. "I will call you tomorrow, i promise"

"Thank you" he said.

When the man left, i called in Nancy. I gave her a stern look, warned her told to not half ass the job or else there's the door. She nodded and got up.

"Oh, Nancy. Can you tell Elijah to come here. Thank you. She will be taking over this case"

After seeing Nancy leave in her almost crying state, i put my face in my hands and let out a sigh.

I chose this job because i want to help people and i'm damn good at it. But sometimes it's just very depressing. To see what people have to deal with, i mean, we have enough problems, why even add more. What irks me more is when people don't do their jobs, when they half ass it. I actually wanted to fire Nancy then and there, but i got to give her the benefit of the doubt, hoping this experience would help her grow. Well, time will tell.

Then i hear the door open. Ah, Elijah. Now there's someone who has proven herself in such a short time. As much as i want to do this case myself, i can't. I need the help and i feel Elijah is a great ass-

I then hear a cough.

"Hey, you called for me?" Elijah said, while standing next to the chair in front of my desk, staring at me with an awkward smile.

"Ah, yes. I wanted to talk to you about a case and if you're interested to help me with it"

She looked at me, somewhat relieved. What did she expect when i called her to my office.. anyway.

"Ah, i see. If i can help, yes" she said with a not so awkward smile this time. "What's the case about?" She then moves over to sit on the chair while facing me.

"The case of the man who just left my office. Mr. Johnson. Nancy didn't handle the case well and the man is about to lose his shop. Something that wasn't supposed to even happen" i ran my hand through my curly hair "Can you help me fix this mistake? I got other cases as well, so i really could use an extra pair of hands"

She looked at me and showed me this warm smile, even her eyes smiled at me "I'd be honored"
