JAZZPUNK
Wait, JazzPunk? It sounds more like some sort of "BeatnikPunk" than AcidPunk, and the premise seems a little Spy-Fi, but hear me out.
JAZZPUNK is primarily comedic, "set in an alternate reality Cold War World, plagued with corporate espionage, CyberCrime, and sentient martinis. Gameplay is inspired by spoof comedy films and cartoons of yesteryear, with a focus on weird gadgets, exotic locales, and open-world style exploration," as per the description on the Steam storefront.
That somewhat describes the game, but not quite. The whole thing is given this psychedelic, surreal vibe, from the art style to the voice acting. Often it feels like minigames within a bigger world. But there is a story. It all feels very gonzo, very Hunter S. Thompson (in fact, there's a character clearly based on his Raoul Duke character).
JAZZPUNK is very hard to describe. Just play it. It's fantastic and not your typical game. One of a kind.
