Kayleigh and Josh had almost finished their day out. Apparently Josh had one more surprise before they got back. They had done all sorts. They went to the arcade, went out for something to eat, then went bowling. It seemed like the perfect thing that best friends would do right. Well the world according to Joshua it was but in the small mind of Kayleigh she had a totally different idea.
"Josh really what is this so called surprise" The girl giggled in the front car seat.
"You'll have to see Koko bear."He says with a smug look on his face.
"Koko bear?" She questioned "That's my new nickname?"
"Why do you not like it. I can always change it if you wanted me to I really don't mind." The boy slurred his word all over the place like he didn't have a care in the world. Finally Kayleigh decided to grab the boy by the hand and told him " I love it."
He then calmed down and carried on driving. The car was filled with silence. But not with an awkward silence, it was more of a peaceful and comforting silence. They wanted to take in the beautiful, starry night sky above them.
That was until Josh had broken the silence after the whole 25 minuet ride there and said "we're here m'lady." Kayleigh had hoped out of the black rover and waited for josh on the sidewalk.
She gave him one of her signature looks that read 'why that?!' and all he could do was laugh at the girls facial expressions.
"So do you want me to close my eyes like it's a cheesy rom-com or are you getting ready to kill me." She asked with a subtle smile on her face.
"Umm I mean unless you wanna fall and hurt yourself then don't close them." He stifled a small laugh that only he heard.
They had walked up a rocky hill and finally got to the destination that was set up beautifully. It was like a small picnic/dance area. There were fairy lights hung across the tree's two blankets on the grass, bunch of pillows and a bunch of photos he had taken.
"Oh my goodness Joshy, this is amazing." She exclaimed with her hand covering her mouth.
"Thank, the girls helped me out a lot. Especially Liv." He scratched the back of his neck with a small smile on his face. The girl smiled back at him .
"They know me so well. But how did you know exactly what to get." Kayleigh questioned
"It was just a quick guess." He smirked and all the girl could do was continuously look at the boy. And all he could do was look back at the girl's emerald eyes.
After a few seconds, Kayleigh had broken the silents with a slight cough and ran to the small spot that he had set up. Josh had to catch up with her as they had talked all afternoon. Kayleigh had the best day of the life.
"Thank you by the way Josh. This was the most awesome best friend day out ever." She gave him a huge grin.
"You're very welcome Koko Bear. Anything for you." He smiled back.
It was starting to get late and Josh had one small surprise left to give to her.
"Hey Joshy, it's getting late we should start to pack up." The girl had told him.
"Okay, but before we pack up there is one more thing I have for you." He replied back to her.
She locked at him shocked. "Joshy this is like the 3rd present today. It's not my birthday or Christmas." She giggled
"I know I just want you to know how much you mean to me as a best friend. So why not treat my best friend to the best of things." The innocent soul had tears in her eyes. She got up of the ground and had tackled him into a hug.
He had started to pull out the box from behind his back. It was a necklace with a guitar pick on it. The sentence 'cute best friend' was engraved into it
"Aww Joshy, This adorable. Now I have to get you something." She said as she admired the necklace.
"No you don't. You deserve it." He said with a cute facial expression on his face.
The night had officially come to an end. They were heading back to Kayleigh's place.
"Thanks josh again for all this and the really adorable necklace." She thanked once more.
"It's ok Koko bear." He smiled. "See you tomorrow on set?" He asked
"You know it Joshy. Can't wait to annoy you and Matt." She laughed.
And the girl had left the car and walked back inside her house.
