Alright I finished my celebrating, now onto writing about this piece.
This man........ this fucking man right here gave me so much trouble. I redrew his face about four times before finally being happy enough with it. The wings.... oh the wings.. those were a nightmare to draw but I think that they turned out alright in the end. I did however, have a lot of fun drawing the outfit! That and the hair.
I did quite a lot of experimenting on this piece with the lighting and shading. The pose took me about a week to settle on back in November but I settled on this one after a few Google searches for references because well... I didn't have any ideas so I needed help finding one ;-;
After sketching it down in my sketchbook I thought to myself 'You know what, I'm gonna transfer and digitalize this because I fuckin can!' I kinda regretted doing that... but at the same time... NAH! As you can probably tell I got a bit carried away with wrinkles and the shading... but not the background cuz I get lazy with backgrounds :p
I lost a lot of motivation while working on this because of school and other things in life. I considered scrapping this altogether many times before, being a perfectionist didn't help me finish any sooner. I somehow managed to keep drawing and finally finish it months later. Madame Macabre made Dr. Locklear too perfect I swear.
My great friend suggested this idea for a drawing back in March of last year, idk how/why remembered it, but I did XD This drawing is for you my friend, it gave me some trouble but in the end, I'm satisfied with my work. I really hope that you like this piece as much as I do because this drawing is for you! ~S
