I drew Brian Thomas for the second time ever.
For my birthday (that was now a month and a day ago), I had gotten a set of Winsor and Newton solid watercolors. The moment I opened the package I was like 'Holy shit! I was hoping to get watercolors but I didn't expect to get this brand!'
These are some of the best you could get on the market so when I saw them I fucking cried... hard. Thanks to my brother who didn't have to do this but did! Now back to the actual piece.I haven't used solid watercolor since 4th grade with Crayola washable watercolor aka YEARS ago. The last time I ever did watercolor was last year with liquid watercolor in art class, so I had some experience with how this medium worked.
Even with prior experience, I still made a practice piece before actually making a finish painting, just to get a feel of how these watercolors behaved and the most efficient way to use them. I of course made the sketch and inked it in before I actually used my new watercolors. Painting the pigments on took me a few days because... water. Afterwards I decided to use my color pencils afterwards to add some more dimension to the final piece. It's a bit messy but I am really happy with how he turned out!
Brian has to be one of my favorite Marble Hornets characters, and I've drawn him only once before so I was really happy to work on this piece! :DShit I nearly forgot to add the progress pics I have!
What a rarity ~S
