To be honest, everything seemed a little too perfect.

Taehyun's a healthy and cheerful boy, Jungkook's company just had their first branch company in America and it's getting better.

I was having the life of my dreams.

Everything was well in place.

Until this day...

9am.

I arrived at the company and went straight for the board meeting.

I entered the room and everyone stood up from their seats.

Ji Eun: Is everyone present?

Rosé: Yes.

Ji Eun: Alright, everyone please take your seat.

We sat down and the meeting started. I made Rosé my secretary now so yep :)

Before I spoke, Mr Lee, one of the board directors, stood up.

Mr Lee: Sorry to interrupt, but I think it's best that we have the meeting with Mr Jeon.

I raised an eyebrow.

Ji Eun: Why is that?

Mr Lee: I simply think that Mr Jeon handles best and he have all the documents for this meeting.

I chuckled.

Ji Eun: Mr Lee, to be honest, I know the most.

All the board directors laughed.

Mr Lee: Nice joke. You're just a woman, how much would you know?

Ji Eun: For I am his secretary. All of the documents, info of clients, and basic info about everyone sitting here, must go through me before it could even get to him.

His face hardened slightly.

Ji Eun: If I'm not wrong, you have a beautiful wife and two kids.

Mr Lee: Don't try hurt them!

Ji Eun: I don't do the killing, my brother do. Also, I'm not gonna hurt them.

I signaled Rosé to pass down an envelope to each of them.

Everyone was then looking at Mr Lee in disbelief.

He hung his head low in shame.

Ji Eun: I didn't know you had two other wives! How surprising. It would be more surprising if your wife found out.

Mr Lee: No! Please don't tell her.

Ji Eun: Then take a sit please.

He sat down and it was silent.

Ji Eun: Are there any more arguments? Okay, let's start.

An hour later, the meeting ended smoothly.

I went to Jungkook's office and told him everything that happened during the meeting.

Jungkook: Hmm ok.

He didn't seem to be listening to me.

Ji Eun: Are you okay?

Jungkook: Yeah of course. I'll get back to work. You should go home.

Ji Eun: Um, okay? Come back home immediately after work okay?

Jungkook: Is there anything special? Cause I having dinner with the client.

Ji Eun: Oh. T-there's nothing special.

Jungkook: Okay see you at night.

I turned and left his room. There was something special, it was my birthday.

He never forgets my birthday! I guess love does fade as time pass.

I stayed at home and did all the chores.

3pm.

Ji Eun: Wash your hands before you take anything from the fridge!

Taehyun: Okay!!

I put down his bag and went straight to the living room. It was a tiring day.

11pm.

It's been an hour since Taehyun slept and Jungkook's still not back home. I waited on the couch.

And as I waited, I had this feeling that something was off about him.

I checked my phone and found his location. I had no choice but to call Rosé to come take care of Taehyun as I accidentally woke him up when I was taking the keys.

I quickly drove to his location, it was a restaurant.

The waitress led me to the dining room where Jungkook was.

He had his hands on her neck and was about to kiss her.

Ji Eun: JEON JUNGKOOK!

They were alarmed and the lady scurried out of the room.

Jungkook: J-Ji Eun?

Ji Eun: I came to pick you up worriedly and you were about to make out with another lady?!

Jungkook: Wait then-

Ji Eun: Nevermind, tell me what day it is?

Jungkook: Wednesday?

Ji Eun: It's my fucking birthday.

Jungkook: OH SHIT I'm so sorry I- I totally forgot about it!

Ji Eun: I waited for you on the couch. Hoping you would come back and at least say happy birthday.

I held back my tears of disappointment and betrayal.

Jungkook's eyes looked at me with love as he always did, but this time, with pain, shame and confusion.

I don't understand why.

Jungkook: I- I'm sorry I thought-

Ji Eun: I had a feeling that you weren't normal and I was right. If you're not happy with me, we can get divorced.

Jungkook: WHY WOULD I?! You were willing to die for me! I love you! Look, I was-

Ji Eun: Yeah you do.

I ran out of the restaurant while Jungkook tried to chase after me.

I didn't hear anything he said, cause all I felt next, was pain.

Physical and mental pain.

After Taehyun fell asleep, Jimin and I got to the living room, we were playing with our phones when I received a phone call.

Jimin: Who is it?

Rosé: It's Jungkook?

I picked up.

Rosé: Hello?

Jungkook: Come to the hospital quick! Ji Eun got hit by a car.
