Chapter 3: The Shift

"As ready as I'll ever be." I muttered to receive another slight squeeze from my hand.

"Okay let's go its almost time." Was all my dad said before walking towards the building.

Chapter 3

Ashton came up behind me and took my hand in his giving it a little squeeze.

"It's going to be alright it's not that bad." He said trying to comfort me.

I gave him a grateful smile as we walked into the huge building. On the outside it looks extremely small but inside its humongous.

When we walked in the first thing i noticed was the giant cage like structure in the middle, and the whole pack standing around it.

I hesitated. "Its just in case your wolf gets angry and tries to take control. If she takes control while angry she can hurt someone." Ash said calmly.

"That makes sense i guess." I whispered.

We walked to the cage and entered it. Damien and Dad were already in it.

Ash brought me over to them kissed me on the head and wished me luck before exiting the cage.

"The time has come kids we have about 5 minutes." Dad said to Damien and I. He then turned to the crowd which was the rest of our pack.

"As you all know my lovely children here are finally growing up! Tonight in less then 2 minutes they shall be officially one of us!" He yelled so everyone could hear him.

The crowd went wild!

We waited for a minute then all of a sudden i had pain shooting up my arms and legs. I screamed. The pain was almost unbearable. Next to me i can hear my brothers screams.

He screams like a girl. Haha. Im going to have to make fun of him later for that!

I could hear my bones cracking and feel them moving. It is the most uncomfortable feeling ever! I shut my eyes extremely tight. With every crack came another scream. . . . Until finally it all stopped. I stopped screaming but never opened my eyes.

Soon after i stopped Damien stopped as well. Slowly i opened my eyes and looked around. In the cage was only another wolf who was obviously Dam and I.

Damien's wolf was so beautiful it was as black as the midnight sky! But everyone was looking at me. Am i that ugly? I wonder what colour i am.

There was whispering all around that i could suddenly hear. 'It cant be' 'why did the moon goddess chose her!' Was what i mostly heard from people around the room.

All of a sudden i heard a voice in my head that said 'Everything is ok my name is Cass. We are white which is a very rare colour in wolves, which also means we have royal blood in us.'

I looked around the room trying to figure out who it was but no one seemed to be actually talking to me. I think I'm going crazy.

Who was that?

'Oh honey i am your wolf.' It replied

"Ok now both of you, you guys where wonderful! Now to change back to human you have to think of your human form. " my dad said pulling me out of my inner conversation.

"I am going to put a blanket over you both because when you change back you are naked." He said again and advanced towards me first.

As he got closer i got distracted by the most sweet smell ever. I started walking away and followed the scent while sniffing the air.
