The Enemy (Bucky x Reader) (Part 3)

I hope you guys actually like this little series, I feel like it's a bit different from the other stuff I've written and it's one of the ones I actually think about a lot. Hopefully you guys enjoy it...

Warnings: violence, some angst, lots of Tony

"I want to take her out Steve, on a real date! I can't do that if she's locked in that damn room!" Bucky groaned as he sat on the couch across from his friend. You and Bucky had just had yet another stay in date, and even though you told him you were fine with it, he knew you would love to go out and see the world.

"Buck, you're the one who said you just wanted her safe and out of Hydras control, even if that meant she would be locked up in here. She's safe, just let Tony take his time with trusting her." Steve tried to explain.

"It's been over a month, how long is this going to take? She wasn't herself when she shot the team, you know that." Bucky argued.

"I know, but remember how long it took him to trust you after Siberia?" Steve pointed out, causing Bucky to only offer a defeated look in response. "Look, just let him trust her on his own time, in his own way."

"I know, you're right. It's just. She's been in there longer than I have now."

"And the only time you almost killed him and destroyed his suit, you didn't succeed. She was able to disable the suit within seconds and almost killed him." Steve continued. "Look, with a baby on the way, Tony has a lot to worry about right now, he just doesn't want to chance anything. You would do the same thing." Steve whispered, knowing this was still a secret that was being kept from some of the team, since Pepper was only in her first trimester.

"Okay, I get it." Bucky whispered, his mind moving to tomorrow's mission now. "Do you really think she's ready to take on Hydra? Are you sure it's not too soon?" He asked, only wanting you to be safe and away from Hydras clutches forever.

"She's the one who volunteered when I brought it up during her training. She's a pretty skilled fighter, she continues to beat Nat, and even you, within seconds, we need her." Steve told him, now looking through the plans for the mission on his tablet. "If anything, Hydra will be running away the second they see her."

"I just don't want her risking getting caught again." Bucky sighed.

"Let her make her own decisions Buck, she knows the risk, and to her it's worth it."

As morning came, Steve and Bucky unlocked your room, telling you it was time for everyone to leave. You were finally allowed to walk through the tower without handcuffs, as long as both of them were with you. You were fine with it really, it was a start to Stark trusting you, and that was all you could ask for after all he had done for you.

As the three of you were about to enter the launch bay, Steve was told they needed to have a few more members of the team suit up as well. "Y/n, promise me you'll stay here? Don't let Tony see you alone." Steve told you, earning a nod as you stepped to the side, standing by the entrance to the bay while Steve and Bucky went to grab more of the team.

"Please, promise me this is your last mission during all this." You heard a woman's voice come from the launch bay, causing you to grow curious, inching your way closer to the entrance to hear better.

"Pep, I'm sorry, they need me." Tony responded, causing your brows to furrow slightly in confusion.

"We need you too, Tony. What if something happens to you? What if this baby grows up without a father?" Pepper began to get emotional, and after hearing what she said, you assumed hormones had a small part to play in this as well. You had no idea they were expecting, in fact you had no idea Tony was even married. You peaked ever so slightly from behind the bay entrance, eyes landing on the beautiful woman standing in front of him, and smiling at the barely visible baby bump.
