Leanna sat near the small bonfire that she had built outside of her house. She had recently moved into the little farmhouse that sat just outside the town of Mystic Falls. There has been a winds storm causing limbs to fall out of the tree and litter the yard so she had taken the day to clean them up and now was able to relax near the warmth of the fire. It had turned out to be a wonderful night. She could hear the spring peepers singing their song with the occasional croak of a bull frog interrupting them. She enjoyed nights like these, ones where she could forget about everything that was going on in the world, even if it were just for a few moments.
She had been deep in thought and hadn't noticed that the frogs had went silent. It wasn't until she heard a voice behind her that she came back to reality.
"Such a beautiful night to sit out under the stars," a male voice remarked from behind her. She was quick to turn around to find who the voice was coming from as she was not expecting anyone to be at her house, especially this late at night. "But a pretty little thing like you shouldn't be out alone this late at night. You never know what might be wondering around the woods."
A dark haired male, who was definitely taller than her, was casually standing a few feet from her. There was a slight smirk on his face a he looked down at her, his hands settled in the pockets of his jacket.
"Who are you?" She questioned as she stood from the ground. "What do you think you are doing here?" She started becoming defensive as this stranger had just invited himself onto her property.
"Damon Salvatore," he replied. "I was on a walk a decided to greet my new neighbor." He motioned back towards town where the o my house she could thing of was the large manor.
"You live in the large manor just a ways down the road?" She asked as she started to relax a little as he might actually not be there to murder or kidnap her.
"Along with my brother," he tells her with a nod as he looked into her eyes. "You wouldn't mind if sat with you, do you?"
She wanted to object, to tell him that she needed to get some sleep, but for some reason she nodded. "Of course, I wouldn't mind at all," she told him as she sat back down.
The smirk remained on Damon's face as he sat down next to her. "So tell me about you," he says as he watches her.
She wasn't sure she really wanted to tell him very much but she felt as of she needed to tell him everything. "My name is Josephine Petrova and I just recently moved here because I dropped out of college and wanted a fresh start. My parents didn't agree so they haven't been in contact with me for five months." Suddenly she broke eyes contact with him and forced herself to not say anything else.
Damon looked at her, intrigued that she was able to break the compulsion, even such a weak request as it was, but what intrigued him even more was that she was a Petrova. "I want you to come with my," he said but this time he put more energy into the compulsion so he knew for sure that she wouldn't be able to fight it.
Once again, she wanted to refuse and tell him that she wasn't going to go anywhere with him. "Okay, where are we going to go?" She said, going against all instinct she had.
Damon grinned widely as he watched her. "On an adventure, who knows where we will end up," he told her, he could see her fighting internally, trying to fight away the compulsion. "Why don't you go pack a bag? Make sure to include plenty of clothes."
Josephine only nodded as she stood and went into her house to pack a bag as she had been told to do. She packed a bunch of clothes as he had told her to do as well as medicine that she needed toiletries. When she finished she went back downstairs and outside to Damon, the duffle bag of her clothes in hand.
"Packed already?" He questioned her as he stood. "Now why don't you find out why I want you to come with me. Come closer." She stepped closer and looked up at him. "Stay still, this shouldn't hurt much," He told her as he placed a hand on her shoulder and leaned closer to her, bending down so he was close to her neck. Josephine stood still, not moving an inch but her mind was telling her to run. Damon suddenly bit her neck and started to drink her blood. She gasped from the pain but as long as she stood still, the pain wasn't unbearable. The feeling of her blood flowing from her body made her uncomfortable and wanted to pull away from him but she couldn't move. She started to feel weak and light headed and that was when Damon pulled away and wrapped her arms under her, lifting her up. "Go to sleep dear, you'll feel much better when you wake up."
Josephine started to be come drowsy as she heard him pick up her back and start carrying her somewhere.
