thirty two

that same day: november 6th

their plane lands in the beautiful state of hawaii. the weather is warm, with some clouds, but it is sunny for the most part. savanna and bryce get off the plane and are instantly greeted by the warm air.

they wait for their suitcases at the baggage claim area and once they have them, walk to the rental car center.

they get their car and bryce drives to the resort they will be staying at, the halekulani hotel. he finds a parking spot and the couple unloads the car.

walking into the hotel lobby, they are greeted by the welcoming staff and given floral leis around their neck. they check in and are given keys to their suite.

they take the elevator to the 15th floor and find their room. upon entering, bryce immediately throws himself onto the bed while savanna goes out onto the balcony to see the amazing view of the beach and ocean. "babe, come check out the view!" she tells him.

he gets up and walks onto the balcony behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist. "you are the view" he says.

savanna giggles, "oh my god, bryce."

"so what do you want to do today?" he asks her.

"well, since it's noon already, we can change and go down to kalakaua avenue and go shopping!"

"we come out to hawaii and all you want to do is go shopping?" bryce laughs.

"well of course not, but today is our first day and i'm kind of tired from the flight. besides, i heard that a lot of designers have things that you can only buy in hawaii, so, i want to spend some money!" savanna says excitedly. "i'll pay for myself, if that's your concern" she adds.

bryce chuckles at his wife's giddiness, "babe, i'll pay. you know i just hate going shopping."

"oh, come on!" savanna says.

"you're lucky i love you."

"ok yay!"

they change out of their comfy sweats and into nicer outfits and head to the main level. they walk out onto the busy shopping street lined with palm trees and glittering stores.

savanna practically drags bryce along and he laughs, "alright babe, where to first?"

"i don't know, let's just walk and see what stores we find."

"ok."

they walk pass a food truck selling hawaiian coffee, "hey, babe, can we get coffee?" savanna asks.

"ok, sure."

savanna orders an iced coffee while bryce gets a cold brew. they keep walking along the road while sipping their drinks.

they walk by lululemon and savanna drags bryce inside. she heads to the back of the store, where the aloha hawaii collection is located. "see bryce, this is what i mean! you can only get this stuff here" savanna says.

she picks out a couple items to try on and ends up buying a pair of shorts and a tank top.

next, they go to gucci and savanna eyes a handbag. a man walks up to them and asks, "hi guys, where are visiting from?"

"la" bryce answers.

"and were you interested in this bag?" he asks.

"yeah, how much is it?" savanna asks.

"well, if you were to buy this on rodeo, it would he $1,700, but the island price here is $1,500."

savanna's eyes widen, "oh, ok thank you."

"no problem. i'm micheal, if you have any other questions."

when he walks away, bryce asks savanna, "do you want it?"

"i don't know, b. it's kind of expensive."

"that's ok, i'll get it for you."

bryce also buys a belt for himself and they head to the next store.

"i think you're enjoying this, babe" savanna laughs.

"only because i can spoil you" bryce responds.

they shop at a few other stores before heading back to the hotel, carrying multiple bags. they put the bags down before heading down to the hotel's outdoor restaurant.

they eat their dinner while watching the sun set over the ocean.

"it's so pretty here" savanna says.

"yeah, but you know what else is pretty?" bryce asks.

"what?" she asks, even though she knows he'll say her.

"you" he says, and even after all these years, he still makes her blush.

"you're pretty too" she giggles.
