It was a temperate day out in Queens, New York. The sky was cloudy and the sun was barely peeking through them. It felt gloomy... everyone felt like the day was going slow.. slower than their usual boring lives. Well, all except for Peter. It was his birthday! He couldn't wait for the day to begin.

He woke up to Aunt May coming into the room with his favorite breakfast, pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream, with eggs and bacon on the time of course.

"Thanks, Aunt May," Peter said groggily as he rubbed his eyes and sat up. Aunt May sat the tray of breakfast beside him with a smile. "Of course, Peter. Anything for my boy." She ruffled his hair slightly. "What's your plan for today?" She asked, crouching down beside him slightly. "Hanging out with Ned?"

Peter shrugged. "Maybe." He said as he grabbed the tray and placed it on his lap. He could feel the heat radiating from the tray onto his lap. He smiled to himself. It's still warm.. hell yes.

May let out a small sigh before smirking at him slightly. "Is Michelle coming over? Are you going to hang out with her?" She asked looking over at him. Peter choked on his slice of pancake. He and Michelle have only been dating for a few months now... still, the thought or mention of her made his heart skip a beat or two.

Coughing and forcing the pancake bite down his throat, he returned the glance with pink cheeks and burning ears. "I d-dunno, I would like to spend the day with her." He spoke almost in a whisper. What would they even do together? Sit down and stare at each other like lovesick idiots? Seems about right.

May's smirk turned into a happy grin. Her boy was growing up into a man. Her imagining Peter going out on his own with the girl of his dreams warmed her heart a little. To be fair, young love always did.

Before May could even begin to think of her next sentence, Peter's phone went off from across the room where he's been charging it. He figured that if his alarm went off from across the room, he would have no other choice but to get out of bed to turn it off. Especially with school starting in the next week.

Aunt May let out a soft sigh and went to grab the phone. "It's from Ned. Apparently, he's been spamming you with birthday messages since 6 o'clock..." May informed Peter as she scrolled through the notifications on his phone.

Peter so badly wanted her to stop looking through his messages for the fear of her finding out something or seeing something she was never meant to see. There's nothing bad its just.. you may never know what sparks in Ned's mind.

"Did MJ text?" He asked, still looking over at May as he ate more of his pancakes. How is every bite so fluffy? And oh- this strawberry.. this is the best strawberry I've ever tasted!

With a click of her tongue, May shook her head. "No, I'm sorry bud." She walked over to him and handed over his phone. "Maybe she's still asleep? It is only 9 in the morning on a Saturday." She ruffled his hair again as he let out a sigh. "Don't sweat it."

Peter nodded. "Okay, May. I won't sweat it.. thanks again for the breakfast." He thanked her with a soft smile. May nodded, kissing his cheek lovingly. "Of course, Peter. Happy birthday." She said before exiting the room, closing the door behind her.

Peter set aside his breakfast and scrolled through the messages he received from Ned, laughing a little as he did. Ned was a mess.

"DUDE! And then she goes, Well, what if I wanna be the princess?." Ned exclaimed in a girlie voice. Peter laughed, walking into the room while combing his fingers through his hair. "Ned, she's eight. Why didn't you just let her be the princess?"
