(Melanie's POV)

Melanie woke up and looked at her watch, it was ten in the morning. She yawned and lazily got out of bed and wondered why Friday hadn't woken her up. Friday and Melanie lived in a house together and had a pet parrot. Friday had suggested it as they could say words and nobody noticed a random bird, so it could be helpful with some investigations. Melanie had taken alike towards forensics and she noticed the unoticable and had almost a photographic memory. She and Friday had set up a detective agency and it had started getting a name for itself, like Sherlock and Watson.

Then it dawned on her, Ian, he had come back from the airport and Friday was obviously suffering from heartbreak. She walked out to make herself some breakfast when she thought that she ought to check on Friday, just in case she hadn't been kidnapped or something. So, Melanie crept towards Friday's room and slowly opened the door. She almost nearly screamed and tripped over Friday's shoes. This was because there were Friday and Ian sleeping, all the while in a tight embrace. Ian moved his head and Melanie was worried that she had woken them up and ruined the moment. Melanie had the urge to wake them but decided against it and crept out slowly and went back to making breakfast.

As she got the bowl out of the cupboard she twisted around and classic Melanie slipped dropping the bowl and waking up Ian and Friday. She knew this because she could clearly hear Ian and Friday grumbling. ' Sorry to wake you, lovers', even though she wasn't in the least bit sorry. She knew they would have nothing to say in return as throughout high school they had denied it but now they couldn't argue against her. They were clearly in love to everyone who saw, even the headmaster - and no offence but he was a pretty dim bulb.
