Chapter 3

"I told you I will never agree to this, you're our only child and we don't want to risk your life" mom said

"Why do you always say no, don't you trust me? I can handle myself. Why can't I be like the other kids who are free to go to school?" I exclaimed

"Because you are not just any other kid, you are our child" mom said

"Don't keep forcing us Klare, our decision is final" Dad added

I suddenly remembered those flashbacks, the times when I attempted to force them. But It's different now, hopefully. I'm older and more responsible. I think I can handle myself better than before.

"mom, dad, I wanna tell you something" I said

"What is it?" dad asked

"I know you already disapproved of this a lot of times, but I guess it won't hurt to try" I answered "my online class wil be finished next week and the regular classes from universities are starting in two months. I was hoping that I can enroll in brooklyn high university and continue my studies there"

They stayed silent, they probably know that this were the words that will come out from my mouth. I'm literally sweating a lot since I'm just standing at the side, waiting for their replies. I hope I didn't ruin their mood tho.

" I know you're worried about my safety, but I promise you that I'll try my best to not risk my life in danger. And also you can also pull me out from the university when my grades are not stable" I added

I was patiently waiting for their reply with a slight hope that they might agree. I already prepared myself from the possibilities but I'm still nervous.

"Your mom and I already talked about this" dad answered "We were supposed to surprise you but then you made the first move." he added

"Klare, you're already enrolled at brooklyn high" mom said "We thought that it's the time that we loosen the strings. You'll continue your two years of jhs there and I really hope that you won't disappoint us." mom added

"As for your transportation, you are gonna walk to school since it's just a few minutes away. You'll recieve an allowance of 1000 php per week so I hope you'll budget it properly" dad added

Wait, wait, did I heard them right? Did they really agree for me to go to a university? Did they just do it? I'm confused, I just can't fit everything in my mind right now. I wanna jump out of happiness, I wanna sing, I wanna hug them, I can't believe that this is really happening.

"Klare?" dad asked

So it's really really real "I'm fine with the allowance dad, I promise to maintain good high grades, I promise to budget my allowance and I won't let you down" I answered

I embraced the both of them. Finally, they're loosening the strings. I'm so lucky to have them as my parents tho. But I'm kinda scared now cause i'll be in a new environment in two months.
