Alex sighed as he crossed the street. He missed the old man who died just a few weeks prior. The man who had succeeded where his parents had failed.

Their responsibility of raising him. He was taught how to fight in different types of martial arts and he could boldly say that he was good at it. He was especially good at using a staff.

He sighed again. He was just walking home from his part time job. He was soo tired. Being him wasn't easy.

He turned the corner and stopped, sensing something. He wasn't sure what it was. A sort of calling maybe coming from deep, deep down in him.

He just couldn't explain it. It was one of the weirdest things that had ever happened to him. Since he was 12 years weird things started happening around him with no explanation.

He decided to just go with the flow. He followed the feeling and came to a warehouse.  An abandoned one at that.

He entered and came upon a scene of destruction. Old machines torn to pieces. Craters and cracks on the walls and floors like two beasts or gods had a fight here or something.

He examined the place and saw someone in the corner leaning against the wall. He went up to him concerned.

"Hey. Are you okay? "

The person looked up and he realized that it was a boy not much older than himself. The boy was trying to say something but not managed to get it out.

"Try not to talk yet. Let's get you to a hospital. " Alex reaches out to grab the boy to hoists he onto his shoulders when he suddenly said "run"

Suddenly laughter echoed around in the building.

"I knew that you would try to call one of your friends to help you Isaiah. All I had to do was wait. "

A dark haired boy emerged from the shadows. When he saw Alex he stopped, confused.

"Who the hell is this. I don't remember him being with you when you were chasing us.   Don't tell me that he is a mortal. "

"Hahaha "

" A mortal has come to save you Isaiah. Truly pitiful. Well I'm tired of waiting. Maybe your new friend can escort you into the afterlife. "

The dark haired boy suddenly burst into red flames and stepped forward and Alex's feet suddenly went under him and he fell to his knees.

Not out of fear, no. He just felt his energy disappear all of a sudden. Plus he was too astonished about the fact that there was a guy who burst into flames right in front of him to think about his sudden loss of energy.

Isaiah stepped forward. "Sorry I had to take some of your energy to move. Run I'll try to buy you sometime. " Then Isaiah burst into flames as well. His was blue in color.

Honestly speaking, Alex was too shocked to move. The 2 boys ruled at each other. The versus blue in a fight for survival.

Isaiah threw a punch which his opponent ducked under before spearing him. Isaiah managed to get onto his feet before attacking once more. Although he looked wobbly.

In Alex's eyes Isaiah was attacks were powerful but lacked finese, technique, speed. Plus he was already heavily injured. He couldn't last for long.

He knew that Isaiah would lose soon so instead of escaping he hid behind a nearby pillar and waited for an opportunity to strike.

Isaiah and his back haired 'friend' went toe to toe with each other moving so fast that his eyes almost couldn't follow. But it was obvious that Isaiah would go down soon as he had taken more attacks than he had dished out himself.

When he over extended an attack his mysterious opponent reached in and threw him over his shoulders.

Stunned, Isaiah could only look in shock as his opponent summoned a flaming sword and was about to smite him like an angel purging the world from evil.

"Any last words.  "

That was when Alex saw his chance. The mysterious black haired fighter was too concentrated on his victory and forgot all about a variable that was present....... Himself.

He suddenly burst from the shadows like a ghost and before hitting him with all the strength he could muster with a stick he scavenged from a pile in the corner.

An ordinary human being would have either been stunned silly or knocked unconscious by such an attack. All this did was manage to infuriate the back haired boy.

In a second he had his hand around Alex's throat. "This is humiliating. A mortal Luke you actual hit me. A GOD. " he tightened his grip on Alex's throat.

Isaiah grabbed his leg "Ifrit. Don't let the boy go. It's me you're after........ right. "

Ifrit turned to look at the downed warrior. "Nah. But don't worry. Since you care so  much about him I can assure you that you'll will be accompanying him in a few moments. "

He turned back to Alex and condensed a dagger of red flames before thrusting it into Alex's body.

The last thing he saw was Ifrit looking at him with contempt. Like he was lower than an ant. Like he was nothing. This filled him with rage.

But what could he do. He was about to die. He closed his eyes, finally accepting his fate.

Ifrit called himself a god right?   Well if he really was a god, who was he to deny his fate.

He let himself sink into the abyss of nothingness.
