*** They are everything to me, they come first in everything I do.

My family is the force that's driving me***

Car Ride

In reality, Ella school wasn't that far from their apartment it's was a merely 30-minute ride by car, but due to the morning traffic, it took them at least 15min more to reach the school. So, the girls had to go out at least an hour early.

And because Tera woke up at 5 am, even though they spent most of their time being emotional, they still ended up being on schedule. they left their apartment at 6h45'. So Tera wasn't really rushing while driving.

TERA POV

I stared at Ella while diving, even though I put a song from our favorite singer on the radio, she still seemed los in thoughts and I didn't have to wonder what she's thinking about, remembering our morning conversation about our parents.

"Hey, ma Cherie! Which restaurant would you like me to take you to for your BIRTHDAY DINER tonight? I asked, stressing out the last part all cheery. "

" ........ "

" hey! Are you ignoring me now? That's not very good you know! I'm just trying to cheer you up a little. And you're ignoring me? really? That's not fair you know, I ..."

" 🙄 Wow! Don't go all sermon mode on me, I'm sorry, okay! God! now we can't even have a ride in peace? Geez! "she replied rolling her eyes on me, cutting me off before I even finish my sentence.

" 🤨Okay, now you better watch your tone with me, missy! Just because I'm understanding that you're upset doesn't give you the right to raise your voice at me and talk to me anyhow. 😣 I AM YOUR BIG SISTER. And I'd like to think that I'm worth the RESPECT that comes with it. You better remember that! " I said raising my voice a little as anger took place.

Even though we lost our parents early, and didn't benefit from all the education and training that they were supposed to give us, they didn't fail to teach us the essentials. One could say that they set the foundation as if knowing that they couldn't' lay the brick themselves. Making sure that no matter the future, everything else will be influence and force to follow the plan they traced.

And one of those things where RESPECT. My mom will even sing it to the Aretha Franklin song melody. Lol. And even though Ella was just 5years old when they passed away, I made sure to remind her of that, so I wasn't going to take any disrespect from anyone nevertheless from my own baby sister, that just was a big NO-NO.

So, in my attempt to ease up my anger, I lowered the car glasses trying to fill the fresh air coming in and I turn up the music volume from my phone and decided to completely ignore my sister.

" I'm sorry Ya' Te ", she said picking up my phone and turning down the music a bit. " I'm sorry for raising up my voice at you and being rude, I don't know what got over me, it's just.... Well, I'm really sorry big sister" she said. Her words sincere, and her tone like an ocean wave driving away all my anger.

From her first sentence, I knew she was really sincere since she called me Ya'te. Elle wasn't fond of speaking in my mom's mother tongue, and anytime she addresses me that way it meant something deep.

" It's okay, I know you were upset just this morning, and you're ...hum, well you can just talk to me. I know you just turn 15years old, you no longer a baby but still there's a lot to come, I want you to know that you can always talk to me no matter what. As long as you still remember that's I'm your big sister, I'll always be your friend. And I'll always be there for you NO MATTER WHAT. " I said enunciating the last part.
