Mark helped Scott into the car. The blond was sleepy and foggy from his sickness.

"Come on, babe," Mark told him quietly. "We have to go to the doctor, then you can sleep all day."

"That sounds nice," Scott mumbled. Mark chuckled.

"Let's go," he said, getting into the car.

The pair waited about five minutes at the clinic to get in to see the doctor. They had been early.

Mark was glad he'd been there, and he talked to the doctor for Scott. He had to answer a few questions, but Mark was able to talk most of the time.

The doctor did a flu test, which came back negative. She said it was most likely just a really bad stomach bug of some sort. She said to come back if he got worse, or if new symptoms arose. She then told them what medicines they could get.

"What about the high fever?" Mark asked.

"Fevers are just to fight off infection, so that's just a side effect," the doctor explained. "It should help, but he'll feel miserable enough for a little while."

"I do," Scott groaned. Mark smiled at him.

"My poor darling." He turned to the doctor. "Can we go, then?"

She nodded.

"Come with me, then love," Mark said to Scott. "Let's go home. You can go to bed."

"That sounds lovely," Scott said. Mark laughed again.

"Cutey."

The Next Day

Mark looked forward to going home all day. Scott was still sick, and Mark felt the need to comfort him. He wanted to take care of his sweet love.

In eighth period, he was impatient. When he finally told them to pack up early and sat back down, his favorite student came up to him. "Is your boyfriend feeling any better?" she asked.

Mark smiled. "You're so sweet," he said, "Being worried about my boyfriend. He's not any better, but we know what medicine to give him. Although he put up quite the fight last night because it tastes horrible." She giggled.

"You know," one of the male students said, "Mr. Hoying is out lately."

This was not Mark's favorite student.

Mark rolled his eyes. "Mr. Hoying is not my boyfriend," he said, then glanced at his phone when it buzzed. A text from Scott.

💖Scotty💖: Can you get me some chocolate milk on your way home? It might make taking medicine easier.

Mark❤️: You just want chocolate milk. But I'll get some. I won't fight you every night to take your medicine.

💖Scotty💖: You won't have to.

Mark❤️: Okay, I'll get some.

Mark❤️: Some kids are pointing out that you're out, and that I mentioned my boyfriend being sick. They're catching on.

💖Scotty💖: You can tell them the truth.

Mark❤️: You sure?

💖Scotty💖: Of course I am. I may be sick, but I'm in my right mind.

Mark looked up. The two kids were watching him from a short distance. They were talking, and it looked like they were arguing. Probably about whether or not we're dating, he thought. He motioned to them. They came over.

"Actually," Mark told them, "Scotty is my boyfriend. He just said it was alright to tell you guys."

"Can we tell everyone?" the boy asked. "I wanna tell all my friends."

Mark looked at his phone. "One second," he murmured.

Mark❤️: Can they tell everyone?

💖Scotty💖: Yes.

"Go ahead," Mark said.

He shook his head as the two went off. The boy immediately told his friend group. The girl sat at her desk and packed up. He wondered if she had any friends.

He sighed. That was a big confession to make to the students. He just hoped nothing bad would come from it.

***

I didn't really know how to end that. I thought it wasn't bad, though.

There's only going to be one more chapter. This is almost done. I had only planned for ten chapters. I know there's going to be eleven, but I'm not counting the introduction.
