Chapter 4: Escape and Reveal

*Tikki's pov.*

Marinette woke up early, due to my shaking her. "Wha?" She asked and I sat her upright. "Listen, Mari, I am getting you out of here, now. Suddenly, there was a tap on the window. A familiar face poked through the glass. I open the window, letting the cheeky cat in. "Cat Noir?" Marinette asks. "Hello, M'Lady." He says, bowing slightly. Marinette blushes slightly. "Ok. Cat, can you detransform?" I ask him. "But-" Cat Noir starts. He suddenly transforms back. "What? Plagg!" Adrien says. I hear a small gasp. Marinette is staring at Adrien, bug-eyed. Adrien grins and sits next to her. "I'm here to get you out of here. Don't worry anymore." He soothes. Suddenly, Plagg goes into human form and runs over to Marinette. "Marinette! Princess! Are you ok? Do you need anything?" Plagg asks frantically. I sigh. "Plagg, love, leave the poor girl to her man," I say. Marinette and Adrien both turn beet red. I laugh. "Five minutes," I say to the teens. They nod and Plagg and I go onto Mari's balcony. "When should we tell her?" I ask Plagg. He shrugs. "I have no clue." I sigh. "I feel so guilty. We put her in the worst possible place. We are horrible-" I stop as Plagg pulls me into a hug. "It's ok Sugarcube." He says. I sigh and lean into the hug, happy that my girl will finally be safe.

*Adrien's pov*

As soon as Tikki and Plagg went onto the balcony, I pull Marinette into a hug. She gasps and melts into my arms. I gently kiss the top of her head. "It's going to be ok," I say to her, hugging her close. "Are you sure?" Marinette asks. I nod. She sighs and snuggles closer to me, burying her face into my chest. I sigh and hold her close. I feel Marinette's warm body pressed into mine. She feels so skinny. I can feel every one of her ribs. Has this girl been eating? I look down at her, scanning her with my eyes. I see a fresh white bandage around her arm. "Mari," I say softly. She shifts, her deep blue eyes connecting with mine. I suddenly feel very lost in her gaze, as if the deep blue was an ocean, sucking me down into its depths. I lean in, closing my eyes. My lips connect with Mari's, the kiss gentle and full of longing. We pull apart. I look at her. Marinette's face is dusted pink. I assume mine is the same. I lean in again, kissing her again. When we break apart, I stare into her ocean eyes and she stares into mine. "I love you," I whisper. She stiffens and comes close, a small smirk playing across her lips. "Oh?" She purrs, running a finger across my jaw. I shiver, the contact making my skin sear. "Well, Do I have something to tell you..." She says, coming closer. Her nose was mere centimeters away from mine. I have seconds to think before her lips crash onto mine. My brain short circuits and goes out. I pull away, gasping for air. "W-wh-" I stammer. "Shhh." She says, placing a finger on my lip. I stare at her in shock. I never expected her to be this... alluring. Seeing my reaction to her, Marinette bursts out laughing. I tilt my head. What was I missing? I hear laughing from behind me. I see Tikki and Plagg laughing too. Now I'm really confused. "What?" I ask. "Adrien," Tikki says, still laughing. "Mari just pranked you." I look at Marinette, laughing harder than anyone else. "I can't believe I fell for that." I sigh. I turn to Marinette and suddenly she's in my face again. I feel my face grow warm. She smiles, her eyes sparkling. I suddenly grabbed her and kissed her. She let out a surprised oof as I grabbed her. I pull away and look at Marinette's reaction. She stared at me, wide-eyed. I hear Plagg clear his throat. "Sorry guys but we have to go. It's going to be light soon and we need to get p- Marinette out of here." He says. Tikki nods in agreement. I jump up and help Marinette stand. "Where will you go?" I ask. "We have a place to stay that is a few miles out of Paris," Tikki replied. Adrien nodded. Plagg grabbed Adrien and Tikki grabbed Marinette. The four of them then flow out of the room and towards the forest near Paris.

*At the cottage* *Tikki's pov*

I landed in front of the cottage. It was fairly small from the outside, with its large windows and wooden frame. I look down to see my girl has fallen asleep. I smile softly and brush hair out of her eyes. I look over to see that Adrien is asleep in Plagg's arms. I smile at my husband and walk inside. I walk into Marinette's room. I sigh and place her on the bed. I remember designing this room. After watching my girl grow up, I saw what she liked and made her room special for her. I smile as I look at her. I turn and Plag pokes his head in the room. "Hey, Sugarcube. Adrien is awake and needs answers." He says. I nod. "W-where am I? Tikki? What happened?" I hear Marinette say. I turn to see my Mari sitting up. "Hey. I'm glad you're up. Plagg and I have some things to explain to you both."

*Marinette's pov*

I sit on the couch next to Adrien. Tikki and Plagg are in front of us. "Ok," Tikki says. "First thing's first. This is mine and Plagg's actual home. Where we lived before we went to you both. I tilted my head. Didn't they live in the miracle box? "Don't kwamis live in the miracle box?" Adrien asked, taking the words out of my mouth. Tikki shook her head. "Only when we want to. Plagg and I have lived here for a long time before coming to you guys." I nodded. "Second thing," Plagg said. He looked at Tikki and she nodded. "Marinette, Tom isn't your dad and Sabine wasn't your mom." I gasped. Those monsters aren't my parents. "B-but... Who are my birth parents then?" I ask. Tikki looked at me. "We are."
