Meera

Episode 08

Meera Venkatraman Iyer, in short Meera. Born in the mighty town of Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu, and brought up in the Rajdhani of Hindustan, Delhi, she was a natural beauty. Her simple and yet traditional dressing style would simply bowl over anyone who looks at her. Though being brought up in Delhi, she knew to read, write and speak Tamil, and was infact a Post Graduate in Tamil Literature along with her other professional qualifications. She was trained in Carnatic as well as Hindustani music. One could associate her appearances and dressing sense to the likes of the famous south Indian actress Nadhiya.

Well, that's the brief about Meera, as simple as the personality she sports!

It was Monday. The assignment had to commence in a week's time. Raghav was excited to work with Meera. He had not made Raghav Sundar aware of this. He waited for his arrival.

"Good morning Raghav! Sorry if I am late. Had to buy some stationery for the office. So had to make those orders on the way"
"Dei. How many times have I told you not to behave like an office assistant? Nee oru partner da. Don't forget that. And we have our office assistants to take care of all these stuff. Seri, adha vidu. I've got you a surprise news!"
"Sollu da. By the way, namma new assignment paththi pesalam nu irundhen!"
"Sollu da."
"Illa da. Nee edho solla vandhiye. Finish that. I'll tell you later."
"Adhuvum seri. Nee enna panra na arrange for an appointment order for the manager post for our Delhi assignment. Pay will be as usual what we pay our other managers. We have got a person who is joining today!"
"Dei yaaru da? Sollave illa! Vara vara you are becoming too secretive. Is something cooking? Enna, enakku edhira edhachum sketch ah?"
"Dei. Adhellam onnum illa. I just got her confirmation yesterday. She was here! Umm hmm! Illa illa! she gave me a call yesterday nu solla vandhen! Slip of the tongue!"
"Edho irukku! Nee solrache sollu!  Who's that da? Adha sollu. Have to get the letter typed!"
"Her name is Meera Venkatraman. Designation - Manager, International Taxation, Special assignments"
"Seri seri. I'll get the work done. Edho special nu work laam serthu soldra. Nalladhu nadandha seri"
"Dei. Poda. Assignment dhaan special nu sonnen. Aama you were about to tell me something. What's that da?"
"Nothing da. You've already given me the answer"

Raghav Sundar entered the study room to get the letter typed. His mind voice read 'Dai. Annikku Delhi la thapichitta. Innikku irukku da. I'll somehow get that signed. Appram yaaru ava? ahn! Meera! Avala eppadi seekiram verattitu andha edathukku innoruthara kondu varen nu paaru! Indha business la irundhu unna veratta nee kudutha idea va use panna time varaamaya pogum!?'

Meera had joined the office formally. Raghav was happy to have Meera by his side. Whenever they found time at office, they had their moments of romance. Raghav Sundar became secondary for Raghav. Meera took over the place. Though Raghav Sundar was the partner, none of the decisions were taken without Meera into it. Though Meera wasn't happy about that, as she felt this would be like a third person intervening between the partners, she took part in the meetings as Raghav insisted her to stay by his side. Raghav Sundar pretended to agree to this with a smile on his face but his heart was piping hot. And Raghav had signed only those papers regarding Meera's appointment and ignored signing the rest stating he would sign them a little later. This added to Raghav Sundar's fury.

As days passed, Meera filled Raghav's life entirely. Their romance continued with utmost decency. They restricted themselves with hugs and not even a single kiss was exchanged between them. Meera fell in love more for his decency. And Raghav wanted their love to take a leap into the next stage, i.e. marriage. Since Meera wanted to stay in love for a few more months to understand more of Raghav, and also to finish the assignment before getting into a lifetime commitment, Raghav had obliged to the same.

The Delhi assignment was going on with absolute excellence and Meera started assisting the international operations too. Her work style was so structured and employee-friendly that she started to get full team support, with which the firm started earning good reputation amongst the clients and they started getting more engagements to work with. Raghav's tax wing became more predominant in their firm than Raghav Sundar's audit wing. Raghav Sundar was pissed off and he wanted an opportunity to break Raghav's fame by making him lose his business.

Things weren't going well for Raghav Sundar. He was waiting for a solid point to break Raghav personally as he had already got an idea to bring down Raghav in his business. He was fortunate enough that such a chance finally made its way within a week's time. They both had come over to a weekend party at the Taj. Raghav was so happy with the thoughts of Meera that he failed to have a count of shots of alcohol he had. Raghav Sundar kept adding pegs and Raghav happily fed himself one after the other. Finally, Raghav started losing his self and Raghav Sundar had to take him home.

But nothing happened as Raghav Sundar expected. Raghav had dozed off to sleep, and he wasn't able to get anything useful from Raghav. But accidentally his eyes fell on the Diary which Raghav had kept over the side table and had forgotten to keep it in his secret storage. Raghav Sundar got his final ray of hope and with that, he slowly opened to read the few pages of the diary, and his eyes started glowing when he read the page that read,

'Finally she's mine, that one gorgeous woman whom I met at Suraj's wedding. Yes, She's my angel, Meera! I've never imagined someone so beautiful to come over again in my life. I had thought I would die after I lost Sahana. When I was saved by Doctor chitthappa, I wasn't sure of God's message. Now I understood that he had a big surprise for me, and that's Meera, my Meera. I love her. Though she knows my past, she never spoke a word about that. How sweet she is!? Oh God! Thank you! Thank you so much for gifting me with my Meera! OMG, I don't feel like sleeping today. I love you Meera! I love you!'

Raghav Sundar was happy to find a clue from the diary, all that he had to do is find out Sahana and bring out a trouble in Raghav's life. His crooked mind started giving him the route map for setting a plot against Raghav to bring him down emotionally and get his signature in the papers to throw him out of his way.
