Meera

Episode 10

Raghav wasn't sure what had happened that made Meera leave him all of a sudden. She had even sent him her resignation through the official mail. He decided to search out for Meera. He was aware that Meera knew only a handful of people in Chennai. When they first met at Suraj's wedding, she had told him that her dad was the only support she had, but he had already left the world when she joined Raghav's office. He was finding it difficult to figure out exactly from whom he could get Meera's contact as she had surrendered her cellular phone connection, the only way Raghav was aware of, to reach her.

"Ah! Suraj! I'll better call him to check where Meera is! He should be atleast aware!", Raghav thought. But all his efforts ended up in vain. Suraj wasn't aware of her, and Raghav was cautious not to tell him the exact reason for enquiring about Meera. And she had vacated her apartment and her apartment neighbours had no idea about where she went.

He was shattered to the core. He feared he could lose Meera forever as he couldn't find her after searching for a week's time.

As they had burdensome work to do, he felt time will definitely bring Meera back to him soon. He started working extra to finish off the work he had avoided during the past week when he went searching for Meera. He was rather working mechanically as his mind was lost in the thoughts of his love, Meera. He wasn't even speaking to anyone, including his partner-cum-friend Raghav Sundar. In a way, Raghav Sundar felt he had started succeeding in his mission to bring Raghav to zero.

A few days later..

"Mr. Raghav!"
"Yes! Please be seated"
"Mr. Raghav! I'm Inspector Kamal from the Nungambakkam Police Station. There's a complaint against you that you have cheated a woman. Since I enquired about you immediately after the complaint was raised and found you aren't such a person, I didn't make a FIR yet. But since the woman seems to be genuine, I felt I should enquire you. I think you should be coming with me to the station for the inquiry. She is waiting there since she made the complaint."
"What!? A complaint against me! From a woman!? Ok inspector! If you don't mind me, I'll be coming in my own conveyance"
"Its ok sir. But one of my constables will accompany you! Its a formality"
"No problem sir. I'll co-operate. I know I'm not involved in this. There must be some confusion."
"Hope so. Please come"

Raghav Sundar wasn't there when this scene unfolded in their office. He reached office after Raghav left with the inspector. Meanwhile at the police station, the scenes started unfolding. It was a surprise for both Raghav and Raghav Sundar...

(As they entered the police station, a woman started walking slowly to the Inspector's table and Raghav turned to see who it was, he was shocked!)
"Sa... ha... na...! You?"
"Ragh....av!"
"Sahana! Is that you who complained me?"
"Against you? Inspector! He's not the Raghav I've complained against"
"Not him!? But the address you gave belongs to him! Its his office! That's why I had brought him here for the inquiry!"
"Inspector. The address I gave is that of Raghav's! He is the one who had taken me for granted, left me to suffer with his kid inside me! I fear if he has used me for some purpose after seeing Raghav here!"
"Inspector. I'm Raghav, Raghav Sundar. May I know why you've arrested my friend? And.... Sahana! You?"
"Raghav! You? Inspector! This is the guy. He cheated on me!"
"Inspector. I think it's time to reveal our drama to bring Raghav Sundar to the police station"
"What!? A drama? Raghav. Why did you do that?"
"What did I do my dear friend. Its you have been trying to swindle money from me."
"What!? Money? From you?"
"Don't act too smart! Your game is over my boy! Now, Inspector. Will you tell him the story or should I?"
"Please do the honors Mr. Raghav! Ms. Sahana. Please be seated. Your case is now a part of a bigger conspiracy theory which I think Mr. Raghav Sundar will open up after Mr. Raghav narrates our plan in getting him to the police station"
"Ahem! My dear friend, I knew something was cooking right from the day I understood from Saami anna, my home assistant, that you spiked the drink that I had on that party which we had at my mansion before the Delhi meet. When you tried to somehow get the papers signed at our Delhi meeting, I understood you were up to something with my money. I took the decision and the client obliged to it and came over to Chennai to sign the papers. When they were in Chennai, it was my plan to keep you away from signing the papers and that's why they brought up a problem with the accommodation and you attended that when we sat for the signing of papers. After Meera came into office, your anger turned against both of us and as we started getting closer, I saw you silently planning for something. You tried to somehow dominate Meera in her work. I somehow understood your intentions that you are plotting something against me.

When I visited the office early today, I noticed a paper on your table. Usually I never intrude into your privacy but since the paper was familiar, I took it and was shocked to see my signature being practiced on it. I understood you have taken this call as I refused signing the papers myself. I immediately started searching your table and noticed the documents for transferring shares and property to your name. I instantly gave a call to the Inspector, Mr. Kamal, and he'll continue from where I stop"
"Ok, listen Mr. Raghav Sundar. Mr. Raghav wanted to come over to the police station to make a complaint against you. But by that time, Ms. Sahana was here to complain against Mr. Raghav. I had an intuition that it could be you. But I wanted to use this as a trap to bring you to the police station. So I informed Mr. Raghav that I would be taking him here for an inquiry about some random case. He even acted well when he entered the police station. I didn't know Mr. Raghav knew Ms. Sahana before. That was a surprise to us all. But Mr. Raghav didn't break that surprise, and as we planned, you are here. Now it's your turn to tell us what else have you done!"
"Raghav! How dare you? I didn't expect you to behave so cheap to me by making this plot to get me here."
"Shut up you bloody rascal! It's you who played a dirty game. Do you expect me to keep losing all that I have earned!?"
"What!? You have earned? Didn't I contribute to it, Mr. Raghav Chakrapani!? Have you forgotten how broken were you when you lost Sahana? Weren't you a loser having cut your hand for a girl? And what did you just say!? Money you have earned? Haan!? Bloody mind it, I was instrumental in getting you this business. I was beside you when you bought the mansion. I was beside you in your tough times. And all of a sudden, you find that Meera more important than me. You got more assignments of your sort and you weren't bothered about what I would be doing. And that woman, Meera, a name I hate the most!, she immediately started taking control over the office. I was no where. I felt lost.

And by the way, don't be surprised how I knew about your Sahana episode. I read your Diary that day, when you were fast asleep after me giving you an extra dose of alcohol. I read about Sahana. I somehow found out Sahana and we fell in love"
"Stop that you scoundrel! Don't you call that love anymore! You have abused me and I.... I am..." (Crying)
"Ok. Whatever. I've anyway given you something which only I can take ownership of. Even now, I love you my dear!"
"Chi! Don't you dare to talk to me like that! You are an utter disgrace to the clan we belong to. I'm not gonna give you my kid even if you're set free from jail, after serving the term for whatever you've done so far. I'll move out to a distant place"
"Hey hey hey! Relax. Let's talk about that later. Let me now tell my beloved friend, oh, who now considers me a traitor. Listen my old friend Mr. Raghav, coming to the most interesting thing I have ever did to you. Listen till I complete before you react! When you guys wanted to celebrate your team's success..."

"It was our success"
"I told you not to interfere. Ok? Listen. It was your team and your success. That night when you hosted the party, I somehow wanted to spoil your relationship with Meera and get her out of your way and take your sign by giving you the cocktail which I made the waiter prepare for you by giving him money. He did that well but Meera interfered, so I came in between to make sure he doesn't expose me. I thought I would make Sahana meet Meera after I take you home and strain your relationship. But Meera somehow took you with her and I had to abort the plan and make a fresh one. And that's when I decided to bring Sahana to your mansion. I know you don't have your portraits in the living room. So Meera took that as you as we I introduced myself only as Raghav...

Yes! I used our similarities to my benefit. And don't think you can get me punished. Coz, I am anyway gonna die..."
"No...!" - Kamal, Raghav and Sahana were shocked as they did not expect Raghav Sundar to have moved to the Constable's desk and take his gun to shoot himself. By the time they reached out to him, it was too late! His lifeless body fell down to Earth, falling just by Raghav's and Sahana's feet!

Did he seek an apology through his death?

"Mr. Raghav! Ms. Sahana! Am sorry we could not avert this though it happened within our police station. It was highly dramatic. It's definitely a blot on my career. You may have to sign a few papers before you leave. I will talk to you a little later Mr. Raghav. I have to finish the department formalities"

Expect the unexpected - that's life! Raghav wanted his friend to be back with a clean mind, and Sahana wanted her love to be by her side as her husband. But what had just happened was something that only time can explain!
