I.

The Red Car

* I'm running.

I don't know why, and I definitely don't know from what. All of a sudden I'm in a dark, gloomy hallway which is very dimly lit. There were windows at one side of the hallway and it showed nothing. Apart from the fact that it was covered in muck and dirt, it was obviously night outside and what was worse that it was stormy, great. Dirty lightbulbs flicker every 10 meters or so. It's like those atmospheres I see on horror movies only in this one, I'm the girl in distress.

I keep running, catching my breath every stride. I'm panting so loud that it's filling the whole hallway. I try to look back and figure out what I'm running from and take a quick glance.

From what I saw, there was nothing. Just an empty, dark hallway behind me.

I get a sudden realization and slow down.

"What was that all about?", I ask myself. I slowed down into a stop and took rapid shaky breaths. My hair's so frizzed and is all over the place, but I'm not really one of those girls who's conscious about how their hair looks. Hell, I'm in the middle of an abandoned something I don't know, at nowhere I can even remember, I don't think anybody's gonna notice.

I'm sweating so much that I feel every edge of my body slippery, sticky, and wet and I don't like that feeling one bit.

I try to control my breathing, but I can't. It's going on faster and faster. I hold my hand out to my chest. I can feel my heart beating so fast and my heart's beating so loud that I feel like the sound is audible throughout the whole hallway.

I feel like crying. I don't know why, though. I guess it's because I'm probably stuck in the middle of who-know's-where and is probably never gonna get outta here. I crouch into a ball and try to drain out everything for a while to get myself together. Depression isn't gonna help me here. And all that running isn't helping me relax...

But wait, I was running, why?

Before I could ask myself that question again I hear a loud noise. It's like one of those noises I've heard from watching tv with my dad.

I've always been a daddy's girl, and watching tv together is one of our hobbies.

The noise sounded like the one we hear on Formula Racing(that's right, I watch sports). It's like a loud engine starting to run. Starting to race, but where and why here?

Then there were lights, on the other side of the hallway. The one side that I was was running from. At first they looked like tiny pennies, but then they grew and grew and grew.

And that's when I realized, "Run"

I stood up and tried to focus my vision on the mysterious car. As it passed through the dim bulbs, it gave streaks of red flashes. "A red car? Running in the middle of the hallway? And more importantly, chasing me?!", I thought to myself in confusion.

I ran as hard as I could but this time, the car gave out even a larger roar. It sped up until I could see what kind of car it was.

I may be a sports watching girl, but I never really pay attention on the car gibberish that my dad always tells me about.

All I could make out was it was an open car. It was shiny and it looked very brand new.

Honestly, I thought it was beautiful, apart from the fact that it was a killer car who's trying to run me over.

As I ran even harder, I tried to take quick glances at the back to make out the car's driver. It was a dark and shadowy figure.

I think you can never really see anything that clearly when things are going fast, and especially if you were in a dark, poorly-lit hallway.
