                              -Clover's Pov-

The end of the day came pretty quickly.
"I'll be back in about two hours to pick you up, Is that enough time?" Quinton questions.
I smile politely and nod. "That's more than enough time, Thankyou for doing this".
"No worries" he says.

I take a deep breath and get out of the car.
I become more and more nervous as I walk up the steps to Jaden's front door. I lift my finger but before I could press the door bell, the door had flung open. And there he stood, he seemed slightly out of breath. He stood in grey joggers, a navy blue hoodie with his hair all messy.

"How long is this project going to take?" He asks blatantly short-tempered.
"About an hour I-"
"Right let's get this over with" He cuts me off, turning around and walking away from the door.

Wow what an ass.
I step inside and close the door behind me, following him hesitantly to the kitchen.
His house was beautiful I must admit.
"Your parents are out I'm assuming" I finally speak up.
He looks up from his phone and places it carefully on the kitchen counter, crossing his arms over his chest and making deep eye contact with me.
"I live alone".

"Oh" I clear my throat.
"Coffee?" He asks.
"Um yes please" I replied with a smile.

"Make yourself at home" he returns the smile and takes two mugs out of the cupboard.
I nod thanking him and put my bag on the kitchen counter, taking my laptop out of it.
He places the mug of coffee down infront of me and I thank him as I start typing.

An hour passes and so far I'm the only one doing all of the work whilst he sits there slurping coffee. I give him the side eye dirty look before slamming my laptop shut.

"Right we, or should I say, I, have been working on this for an hour and I've written 5 paragraphs and came up with 8 quotes, what have you done, because I'd much rather go home if we're just going to sit here in silence" I say loudly.
His eyes widen as he pushes himself back in his chair.

I didn't know why I was so mad, he was angry about something and since I felt his emotions alongside my irritated ones, it made mine worse.

"Woah, no need to get crazy" he hold his hands up defensively.
I roll my eyes and grab my bag to leave.
"Woah woah woah, no I'm sorry, I'll help, I promise" he grabs my arm to prevent me from walking out of the door.
I wince as he pulls me back. I'm sure he didn't mean to grab me as hard as he did so I didn't bring it up.
"Okay fine" I give in.
He pushes himself back onto the kitchen side.

"So your story?" He inquired.
"My- Um- story" I repeat signalling for him to be more clear with what he was asking me.
Except I already knew exactly what he was asking me.

"You know, how you ended up here" he says.
"Don't have one" I lie, keeping my head down.
"Oh c'mon everybody has a story" He says.
"Not me".

I wished nothing more than to avoid this conversation, then again, I should have know better than to come here in the first place.

"A woman of mystery, I like it" he nods his head.
I smirk and shake my head and carry on typing.
The room falls silent.
"What about you?" I speak up. "Me?" He runs his hands through his fluffy hair.
I nod eagerly.
"I'll tell you about me, once you tell me about you" he says smug.
I stand up and slip my laptop into my bag before throwing my bag on my shoulder.
"Well, then I guess we're going to be stuck on this conversation for a long while" I cross my arms over my chest.
"I guess so" he says, pushing himself off the kitchen counter with a soul taking smirk on his face.

"I already know enough about you" I mutter under my breath, chewing on my bottom lip and avoiding eye contact.
He lets out a little chuckle before his hands slam against the wall above me.
"I don't think you do clover".
"Don't ever assume anything that you're not sure about" he adds, whispering in my ear in a lower register tone.
I swallow yet another stone like feeling in my throat.

Tiny and fragile footsteps make their way down the stairs and Jaden jumps as far away from me as possible.

"Babe, you said this would only take an hour- oh, hello" Mads says in a bitchy tone.
I return a polite smile.
It instantly felt like her thoughts were screaming at me.

"What is this bitch doing here'

"Babe, you never told me that this friend of yours is a girl" she raises her eyebrows at Jaden.
I cross my arms and glance over at him, mirroring her facial expression.
"Well, I was just leaving" I say to Mads but keep my eyes on Jaden.
"You don't have to" he says sweetly.
"No, i'd rather leave, I don't understand the situation that I just walked in on" I shrug and head for the front door.
"I'll see you tomorrow?" He asks seeing me to the door.
"You will" I reply strolling down the steps to where Quinton's car was parked up.

"That was good timing, I just wanted to get out of there if I'm honest" I laugh earning one from Quinton as I jump into the passenger seat.
"Oh god, what happened?" He asks driving away from the sidewalk.
"I did all of the work and he failed to tell me that his girlfriend, who fucking hates me, was upstairs the entire time" I say catching my breath.
"Yep, sounds like Jaden" Quinton chuckles.

"Well atleast the messy hair and lack of breath when he opened the door makes sense" I scoff and Quinton hysterically bursts out laughing.

We soon enough arrive at Chase's house and Quinton and I take a seat together on the separate couch.
"So, how did it go?" Chase asks intrigued and everybody gathers around.
"Any kissing?" Charlie teases.
"Gross, no! I would never kiss that..." I roll my eyes.
Deep down I knew I was lying but I couldn't tell them that I would seriously consider it.

We spent the rest of the night getting to know eachother and I soon fell asleep on Quinton's chest.
