Doom for the Caroling Apartments

Making friends!

I stopped.

For a second, I felt like this was a change of pace. I'd never been so social before.

What an eerie thought though, wasn't this all to start a new life?

...

Whatever.

I continue walking towards the next apartment, shaking myself off untilー

Yet another crash!

Ohmygosh, not again! I ran into someone again, oh my gosh...

I look up at the person I walked into. She was a beautiful, elegant, pink-haired lady, who seemed like she was the around same age as me.

"Ma'am, I'm so very sorry..! Please, just don't think too much less of me...!!"

The lady smiled, so I guess she was okay with it.

She said, "Oh, it's alright, miss! I deeply apologize for not moving out of the way in time, just so focused on what's on my phone, you know..? But, just a tiny question; Are you the new neighbor..? I heard from Ms. Kasane that someone was moving in..."

I nodded. "Pleased to meet you, Miss..?"

"It's Megurine Luka, but you may call me Luka. A pleasure to meet you. I...If you have some time on your hands, surely you could spare some time to have some tea with me. I live right here, after all." She pointed to her door.

"Oh, sure! I was just about to meet you anyway, ehehe..."

And so it was settled. Luka showed me into her residence.. this time, the apartment was more like mine, but the walls had a trim of pink, and it was honestly a bit cute and such.

"Sorry for the mess," she apologized, "I'll go make your tea now."

I sat at a mini table on her balcony, butー just answer me one question...

Wh- How on EARTH was there a mess, this place is extremely spotless!

Even her balcony was adorable, painted hearts in gold in the corners and a dark wooden floor... just.. just how!?

She appeared at the doorway, tray in hand, and I almost shrieked if it weren't for her welcoming smile. "Oh, I didn't mean to scare you... but um, the tea's ready." Luka put the tea tray down, and I took my cup. I thanked her, mostly for being so welcoming and for the tea.

We talked and talked, and honestly, I just felt emotionally attached to her because she had a lot in common with me; to start off, we're both androids, hehe.

She asked, "...so, when is the moving truck coming? I'd be obliged to help you out with the decorating and everything..."

"Tomorrow, and you don't have to be so kind...! I appreciate all you've done, I really do... you're just so nice and all..."

To be honest, Luka was just flattering me, I really don't know what to say... and the tea was just so splendid..

But sadly, all things had to come to an end... and somehow, she talked me into letting her help out with my home. I just couldn't say no to a wholesome presence like hers. I checked my watch to find out it'd been 17:00. (5PM, could be wrong..) I do wish to talk to Luka-chan again in the future, her voice is like a massage to my problems. I mean, we are singing androids, after all... so now we just had our rendezvous and parted ways temporarily.

I had the feeling it was getting late, so  I guess one last person to meet would be alright.

I knocked on room 270's door. A girl in green hair and an orange housewife outfit answered, 5 minutes later. "Helloー uuu, don't mind me asking, but are you new? I didn't hear about 269 getting taken, you must be..."

"Why, yes! Pleased to meet you, my name is Miku!"

The girl was suprised at first, she probably wasn't expecting this at all.

Without any other words, she said, "Camui, Ryuto! A new android moved in!!"

A man in long purple hair walked towards the door, and I'm guessing his son walked with him. "This is my husband, Gackpo, and my son Ryuto*. You two, meet Miku, she just moved in..!

I do a slight wave. Her son stared at me shyly, as he held a frog in his hand. On the other hand, Gackpoー I'm guessing that was his nameー said, "Nice to meet you, Miku. Welcome."

Yet again, I talked to the family about how moving was and if I needed any help. The family was quite appealing I enjoyed talking to them, until I realized that their kid was getting bored and that it was almost 21. (9 PM!) I rushed off in a hurry after saying sayonara, I had not started those papers or filled in the check for the starting morgage yet.

The stress was eating me up, I was on the floor of my unfurnished beautiful penthouse doing papers, not even changed out of the clothes I came in.

Around the time I had finished the check, Teto knocked on the door. "Knock knock~ May I come in..?" I said "yes" and she checked out the paperwork and check. "Oohoo, you were almost a second late! I appreciate your hard work, though. No one likes it when I don't get my luxurious checks. Ehe, you've heard of me ranting about, have you..?"

Suprisingly no, I guess it just hadn't occurred to anyone at the time.

Anyways, Teto took the papers + check and left, leaving me alone in an empty residence. I haven't felt so overjoyed yet alone since I've lived in my old house, how strange...

And I'd ring up the friend who told me to live here, but I'm guessing now isn't the right time to think about all of this.

Without further ado, I use my singing software and sing a tune of calamity as I set up my sleeping bag on the apartment floor.

Tomorrow would lead to a new day of exhaustion.
