Amnesia

Chapter 5: The Date

After an hour in the car of us straight jamming we arrived. He opened my door and as I got out of the car we were at a beach he said "There is a bit of a walk." I smiled and said "As long as it's with you!" He smiled took my hand and off we went.

We rounded a bit of a corner to reveal a weeping willow tree with a table set for two underneath! I was speechless, from the tree hung hundreds of tiny crystals on strings and since the tree was surrounded by candles the light reflected off the crystals perfectly. I couldn't help but squeeze Nate's hand tighter the closer we got, each step wondered my smile. I finally found words " Oh my gosh it's beautiful!" He simply smiled. As he escorted me to the table I realized he had been planning this for weeks! Then he pulled my chair out for me. As we sat a I'm assuming waiter approached the table and poured us some water. Then asked "How are you two on the fabulous night?" I smiled and responded "Couldn't be better!" Then looked at Nate who was smiling ear to ear. A few moments later the waiter brought us a beautifully plated steak atop asparagus. It was so delicious we are to the symphony of clanking silverware accompanied by the sounds of the ocean. Then the waiter cleared out plates and said dessert will be out soon. He returned with this chocolate dessert all I am say is I don't know what it was but it was DELICIOUS!

As we finished our food we began to just talk. Then Nate said "This Reminds me of the night we went on our first official date when I took you to Olive Garden!" It was this instant my head dropped and the smiled was whipped from my face. Then I looked up and in kind of a harsh tone I said "I don't remember." He apologized, but I responded "No you don't know how frustrating this is for me." "And you think it's not frustrating for me? I'm spending the two year anniversary of my girlfriend and I with someone who really isn't my girlfriend." I was offended so I got up and walk away...

I was laying in the sand looking at the stars and listening to the ocean, when Nate came and sat next to me. He handed me a bouquet of flowers and said "I'm sorry I was selfish and over reacted, it's just I spent weeks planning this and wanted it all to be perfect. And it's way harder on you." I sat up and looked at him and said "Its okay to be frustrated with me I understand." He smiled handed me the flowers and we stood up. He took my hand in his and we began to slowly walk with our feet in the water back to the car. In the process he bent down and kissed me then said "Liz I love you, and couldn't imagine my life without you!" I smiled, kissed him back, and looked him deep in the eyes, and said "I love you too!" Then we kept walking till we reached the car....
