A 2nd Chance

Chapter 9: Preparation

A day had gone by after the shocking realization that the Kaitlyn that Rita and Alex knew was really just a clone the entire time.

It was more shocking when Kaitlyn herself told the truth to then the previous night before bed.

Alex still remembered the reactions last night.

Flashback: Last Night

"Kaitlyn. Is that everything that we needed to know about your past life?" Asked Alex.

She thought for a bit before speaking.

"One more thing. Alex. Ms. Rita. Not only am I a clone of the real Kaitlyn, but, I'm also the ONLY living clone of Kaitlyn. If I ever die, then Kaitlyn Apocalypse is truly dead. I'm essentially the last remaining reminder of the real Kaitlyn Apocalypse."

At that, both the kid and the maid were shocked.

"Wait. But Alex said in the vision the real Kaitlyn had blonde hair and blue eyes." Said Rita.

"She was a PERFECT Aryan!" Suddenly shouted Admin causing Alex to grab the book and chuck it across to the table.

"Zip you damn piece of literature!"

"Oh come on! I just had to!"

Alex sighed before turning back to the two girls.

"I think I figured it out. To differentiate the clones from the real Kaitlyn, Otto gave the clones brown hair and eyes so he wouldn't confuse them with rhe real Kaitlyn."

"Ah. I see now." Said Rita in response.

Alex looked at Kaitlyn.

"Hey Kate. You sure your gonna be okay?"

"It be to obvious and cliche if I became a shut in just because I'm a clone. So what if I'm not the real deal? You two treat me as it. I'm fully ready to live on accepting that part of my life."

All three smiled and gave a group hug before sleeping.

Flashback end

Now all three were eating breakfast with Jackie who was informed on what had happened the previous day.

She immediately apologized for not being there but got immediately forgiven as they understood Jackie was currently going through a ton of personal issues she needed her up most attention.

By the time breakfast was done, Jackie had left to deal with her personal issues again while Rita and Kaitlyn were gonna go for a walk on their own.

"You two gonna be okay?" Asked Alex. "Sorry for asking. I'm just, worried."

"Alex it'll be okay. I've been taking care of Kaitlyn for the past few years before I brought her here. I'm sure we'll be fine. Right Kaitlyn?" Asked Rits with Kaitlyn nodding in response immediately.

Alex sighed to calm down and smiled.

"Fine then. I'll take your word on it then. Just make sure to stay safe. And, don't let Otto catch you guys."

"Alex. Otto has no reason to go out most of the time. He's always in his room/office so he's rarely out if nothing important is happening."

Alex nodded again as he fully trusted them to stay out of danger.

Eventually the two girls left leaving Alex to tidy up his apartment room before he left himself.

So, after cleaning up and bidding a quick bye to Admin, he left his apartment room.
