Beep, beep, beep

I  roll over in my bed and grab my phone to turn my alarm off, grumbling the whole way. This is an ungodly hour to be awake but the adrenaline of starting my new job today motivates me to get up and ready. I rush to the bathroom to brush my teeth and do my face routine while jamming to my Morning Hustle playlist. Once I'm done I go to my room to get my outfit, which consists of some black jeans, a satin white top with a white blazer to cover up and a brown belt to go with it. I put on my jewelry after getting dressed and then go to my bathroom to do my makeup. I dab on some concealer to hide my blemishes and then use some powder to set it and then I go for a natural look using just mascara, blush and a tinted chapstick. Once I deem myself ready I go to the kitchen to make a piece of toast. I quickly eat it and then grab my purse and give myself a small pep talk as I walk to my car. I get in and start my car and then I pull out of my garage and head to work.

I pull into the employee parking lot and park my car. I send a quick text to Zach to tell him I'm at work and I'll see him later tonight, then get out of the car to go inside. I see another car parked in the lot but I shrug it off and assume it's another employee. I walk inside and make my way to my new office but as I'm about to go in I notice the room next to me has its lights on. I guess that's the new guy Lizzie was talking about. I go inside my office deciding I'll introduce myself later.

I put my purse down and boot up my computer to review who my first client is. I pull up my schedule and read the little girls name: Sadie Brown. I read that she has been diagnosed with depression, anxiety and she has had a severe past of trauma at only 8 years old. That poor girl. Kids like her are the reason I wanted to do this job, I feel like kids don't get enough help when bad things happen to them and I know too many stories of kids who have had the worst lives and never had anyone to guide them through troubles they don't understand. I've always loved kids and I've always loved learning about developmental psychology so I put them together and decided that this was my calling.

I'm deep in thought when I hear a bang in the hallway. I startle and look at the door and start to get up to see what it was. Just as I'm walking through the door I crash into a hard surface. As I'm about to fall on my ass, strong hands grab my waist to keep me steady and I gasp. I look down at the hands and see trails of tattoos going up their sleeve and then I slowly trail my eyes up the hard chest of the man I ran into. I finally reach his face and I almost faint when I see who it is.

Dominick.

When I see his face he looks just as surprised to see me and I hear him breathe out "Miracle." I feel a rush of heat go down to my core when I hear a voice I never thought I'd hear again. Just then, I relaize where his hands are and how close his body is to mine and I step back and shrug his hands off of me.

"What are you doing her?" I ask in surprise.

"I work here..." He trails off. What. The. Fuck.
