4 years ago everything went down the shitter. 4 years ago, everything happy in Renjun's life fell to pieces. 

It started with his grandmother, who was the person who showed him his love for art, then his father the person who accepted him for who he was, and then his best friend. 

lee donghyuck. lee donghyuck was his best friend. but the younger boy suddenly died. renjun's grandmother and father also died earlier that year, and renjun's life snapped.

lee donghyuck the literal fucking sun, who's smile shown bright, and his annoying laugh could bring world peace. died in a car accident.

the boy had been in the passenger's seat of his boyfriend's car and a car hit them, hit the passenger's side.

donghyuck was said to have died on impact. but renjun could help but think he suffered before dying. how could they know he died quickly and painless? they couldn't. 

mark his boyfriend was okay physically, mentally though, he was fragile. he could break easily. renjun and he spent hours of silence together, whether they had just sobbed or they were hanging out. 

they both seemingly went mute that year, although mark talks regularly with people he's comfortable, renjun would rather forget his voice box.

so as the boy sat next to his wooden easel painting sunflowers, not for anyone, but as a way to remember donghyuck, the living embodiment of a sunflower. 

every year for the past 4 years, the boy had brought sunflowers to donghyuck's grave, along with his grandmother's roses and his father's daises. 

truly that year, 4 years ago, was the worst for renjun, who slowly lost his happiness and voice. who became mute, depressed, and lonely. 

he sat in the art department, alone, with the smell of acrylic filling his nose, as his eyes filled with yellow, signing the painting, haechan.

he left it too dry, sitting in silence for hours in the small building.
