"FINALLY FINISHED!" Steph through her math book to the floor, got up, and started dancing like a complete lunatic. She was halarious. I couldn't stop laughing and she was so overcome with laughter that she fell to the floor and held her stomache.
After she finally got up and gathered herself together. "Wanna go on the trampoline?"
That used to be our favorite thing to do before I had started dating Kennedy. The more and more I thought about it the more I realized how many problems dating Kennedy had created for me. Why hadn't I realized that dating her had brought distance between me and Steph - the thing that I wanted the least.
"YES!", I replied. We ran through the kitchen to open the sliding door that lead to the patio. We jumped off the patio - over the steps meant for safety - and out into the wide, green backyard where the trampoline stood. I hopped on and started bouncing as she got on. We jumped as high as we could and added some stakes to it.
"Ok - if I jump higher then you then you have to buy me a fro yo tomorrow after school."
She laughed and responded, "If I win then you have to jump into the pool with all your clothes on."
We laughed for a bit before we started our serious competition.
She went first and jumped as high as the rim of the lining of the trampoline. I went next and purposely didn't jump as high, but still used my best acting skills to make it look like I tried my best. When I landed she looked at me and laughed.
"HA! I win... now jump into the pool!"
I ran back towards the house and jumped in feet first clothes and all. Then Steph jumped in too. We were both dieing laughing just enjoying eachother's company.
"All take you up on the fro yo thing tomorrow still." Steph said.
An even bigger smile formed on my face - I wasn't even thinking about the project - "Your on."
We sloshed around in the pool for a bit till we heard her mom pull into the drive way. We both looked at each other with the same expression - RUN! She jumped out and climbed up a tree while I hid behind a bush. Her mom came around to the back just like we had suspected and yelled Steph's name a couple of times. Figuring she was just inside - Mrs. Ross turned back and went into the house.
