Not close enough...

Alison POV

I dropped off Spencer and Aria then proceeded to drive home. Well sorta home. I got home it was about 7:30 at night. The house was quiet. Is Em asleep already? No, you would be able hear the murmurs of her breath. I walked into the bathroom to wash the makeup off my face and put pajamas on. Maybe shes outside... Shes never in the backyard. I walked towards the outside light and switched it on. Sure enough there she was laying on a blanket staring up at the bright sky. I opened the door.

"Hey Em." she quickly stood up.

"Hey Ali. I hoped you unlocked the door before you shut it." Em said calmly.

"Don't worry i did...What are you doing out here?"

Emily POV

I didn't want Ali to know i was locked out...

"Long story."

"Oh." she said sarcastically.

"Would you lay with me?" It came out confident but i could feel my hands shake. I patted the spot next to me. She grinned, nodded her head and made her way toward my side. Then she laid down beside me. Not close enough.

"I made sandwiches."

"What kind?" Ali asked

"Gourmet Peanut butter and jelly."

"Sure" she replied laughing. Her laugh is amazing. I picked up a sandwich and handed it to her. She ate it. Then laid back down and rested her head on my shoulder. With her arms tucked between her legs. Still not close enough...

Alison POV

I was close to Em but not close enough. I didn't want to overstep any boundaries. We just were not close enough. Maybe she will make the first move...

Emily POV

Time to make a move to get Alison just a little closer. She was also shivering so why not warm her up.

"Hey Ali?" I whispered. Why did i whisper.

"Yeah?" She whispered back.

"I know your cold... You can come closer, i don't bite."

"You sure?" She asked. Im glad she respects my boundaries. But sometimes.... geez.

"Positive"

She moved closer putting her nose in the crook of my neck. Which made me shiver because her nose was actually cold. Then she draped her arm over my abdomen and tangled our legs together.

"Comfortable?"

"Very." I could feel her breathe on my neck. Every time she did it sent shivers through out my entire body. For once everything seemed to be okay. But i still had a question in the back of my mind.

I sighed a little too loud and Ali definitely heard.

"Whats wrong?" She asked loosening her grip on me.

" Its just..."

I don't know if i want to say this...

"Ali please promise me you wont leave me...Please don't be like everyone else, don't leave me behind. Will you at least promise me that?"

I stuck out my pinkie finger. She did the same. Then we locked them tightly together.

"I promise." She said.
